HELP!! ERROR STARTING UP

All of a sudden our win98 [Pll] machine gives the following error message when starting up: "A FATAL EXCEPTION 0B HAS ACCURED AT 05AF:0000138B. THE CURRENT APPLICATION WILL BE TERMINATED." the system then starts in Safe Mode. I'm not sure what is going on, or what I need to do to fix this. We rarely use this machine, and when we do, it's only used to browse the internet, and we do not, I repeat do not download anything on it, as we try and be v. careful, since it's an older OS. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, JHB

Am trying to find the area/diag box where associations can be set for .wav files to be played when a mail comes into outlook xpress. Been to 1)C/panel Sounds 2)'' '' '' Multimedia Couldnt find much else in C/panel. Did a search for .wav's on my Cdrive,, found the one that my email uses at the moment, (it was buried so damn deep in windows,,, i mean, it took a lot of looking just to find it)(there are many other .wavs in that folder, dont know how outlook knows how to choose the one its using right now.?) Anyone know where I can choose another .wav file at will to associate itself with my email room? What folder should I put it in? Wh…

Hi, I am getting ready to install Windows 98 on a 1ghz P3 with 512mb Ram system. I have two hard drives a 10GB and a 40GB. How should I partion them? In FDISK I noticed options for DOS, Non-Dos, and logical, I am not sure which to use for the second hard drive. Also which should be my primary drive the 10GB or the 40GB? Thanks for any advice and opinions!!!

I am running windows 98 SE. When I defrag, it gets to around 10 % then it starts all over again. Never finishes. Anybody knows what could be wrong? Two Operating Systems W98 / Wxp

I have W-98 in my secondary PC. However, W-98 does not support recent jump (pen) drives, thus I am plannig upgrade to Wxp. Have boxed Wxp upgrade version but instructions indicate that the upgrade will "replace" previous OS. I have several important W-98 program that will like to keep, but they will not work properly under Wxp. Thus, will like to keep W-98 as an alternative OS. Q: How can I installe Wxp and keep W-98 to be used when needed??

WTF - I cant disconnect my modem

I just installed a new modem yesterday. A USR V-Everything. The modem works great, but I just right clicked on the dialer button and left clicked on Disconnect. It will not disconnect. I've tried 6 times, and there were no open browsers, or other internet software. WTF????? Has anyone ever had this problem? How 2 fix?
