Hi, My computer has Windows 98se. I have a folder with several .FLV files I have collected from YouTube. I am frustrated trying to find a GOOD YouTube FLV file(s) converter to convert those .FLV files to either AVI or MPG format so I can play them on my older Windows 95 computers. I can view these .FLV files using a FLV player just fine on my Windows 98 computer, but I gave up trying to find a FLV player that works in Windows 95. If you have Windows 98 and used a FLV converter several times without any problems, please tell me the name and where you downloaded it. Thanks in advance, Brad Before you type your pas…

As a long time loyal Windows 98 SE user, I have decided to purchase a new-to-me computer with Windows XP preloaded on it. I don't, however, see a Windows XP forum like this one. The only ones under Windows XP are General Beta and Start - Help and Support Feature Beta. They don't seem to apply to me. Where is the Windows XP forum? Thanks!

Have a question that I do not recall seeing asked before and have been wondering about. I am running Windows 98se and have DLed most of the updates from MS in case ever need them. Question is if a person runs them does it make a difference what order they are installed and if so how does one determine which ones to install first?? If they install the newer ones then the older ones might the older one mess up the newer one?? TIA

Hi. I installed a Nvidia GeForce 6200 256MB DDR Low Profile Dual DVI & VGA (PCI) card on a Kadoka motherboard BIOS upgraded to 0AASNP06. Computer is running Windows 98SE on an AMD-700 K6-III processor with 512MB of RAM. The system hangs when I shut down with a blinking cursor. If I try to restart in MS-DOS mode, it gives me a DOS screen with Windows Protection Error, You Need to Restart Your Computer, and any key will shut it down, although the state when I restart will not remember any changes. Gateway will not give tech support as this is third party (although they recommended checking the power supply, but it's 350W so it's more than they specified…

The time it takes to load your site can make or break a visitor's first impression of your site. If your site takes too long to load, the visitor will click "Stop" or "Back" and leave your web site. If you are a business and offering people important information, it is critical to have a nice design, with a quick load time. You may want to check out the load time of your page, to indeed see if your site loads quick enough for the average user. A great site tool can be found at http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ where you are able to enter your site and it displays a report on the time it takes to load your site on different connections, in add…

by Guest PSRumbagh- 6 replies

I am using a HP Pavilion 6465 desktop (circa 1999) with a pair of USB 1.0 ports that is running on Windows 98 First Edition. The OS recognizes a 512 MB USB flash drive but not a 2GB flash drive (SanDisk Cruzer/U3 2GB). What is the maximum size that the Win 98 generic driver will recognize? Is there a driver available that will accomodate a 2 GB flash drive?
