I was amused by my us-cert email this morning about how Apple has patched numerous vulnerabilities on their operating system. So much for the argument that you always hear from Walt Mossberg's column in the Wall Street Journal about how great Apples are and how Walt thinks they are so superior to PC's. I have no big problem with Apple and I use an Ipod Mini which is nice for travel but I do not like how they bundle Quicktime with Itunes and then Quicktime continues to get hit with so many security vulnerabilities. Hi All, I managed to turn up a used computer for $20 which contained a suitable 800MHz Celeron board, which I could use to replace my dud motherboard. I've never replaced a motherboard before, so just doing it was of interest to me. I wanted to boot up the original hard drive with all applications installed and get it to work with the the new motherboard. I put an old installation hard drive into the $20 computer so I could experiment - I got some good stuff off the internet of "how-to" do it. I wanted to re-watch a few of the funny Superbowl commercials and save my favorites to my own drive. I wanted to be sure they were in .FLV format, because Media Player seems to always want me to upgrade and do this and do that, and is just plain annoying, and seems to be getting worse every year.
