I am installing a Windows 2003 std server on a dell 2950 system. Brand New from Dell, and I am using their software to load. Everything went fine with the install and the software loaded without incident. I patched the system fully with MS patches. Everything was great until I went to configure the server for AD as a member server on a domain with 2003 std (R1). First thing that happend is this release is R2 and the other releases on the other two servers are R1 release that is fully patched. The first thing it errored out was I got a message stating that the Schema wasn't compatable between the this version R2 and the other R1 and that I had to run…

In the Event log I see this error The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000c2 (0x00000007, 0x0000121a, 0xf56d3867, 0xc0000120). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Attached is a debug from the memory.dmp file everything is pointing to the fact that the ntkrpamp.exe is the problem and I have read that it may be faulty memory or there may be a hot fix for dropped packets none the less the server reboots and will run fine for 4 or 5 days then it will re-boot with the same error. I would like to find out what is causing the error so that I can get it fixed. This is a 2003 R2 Enterprise sp2 server fully patched and runn…

by Guest Fox1977- 5 replies

Hi, We recently updated a number of our office PCs with the windows xp service pack 3 update, since the update a number of users are having issue with the mapping for there active directory home folder. The user normally has a H drive that is mapped to their own share. We are running a windows 2003 domain controller and when the user logs in it doesn't map the H drive. There are no errors reported in the event viewer and when the user logs in to a SP2 machine there home drive maps fine. we also have a log in script to map a number of other drives, this is working fine regardless of which service pack is installed. As a test on one of the PCs I rolled back …

System Drive Space Issue
by Guest Redleg6- 3 replies

I administer a Windows 2003 domain. All servers have some flavor of Win2003 server. Two of my older servers have very limited space on the disk that has the system drive (C:\). When the unused space falls below 10% of the drive's total space we start having problems especially on the server that has Exchange 2003. I have moved everything I can from the system drives and compressed what I cannot move but the space problem remains. What I need to do is to replace these old small drives with a larger drive. Is there a reference that addresses this issue and shows me a reliable procedure for replacing a system drive. All my data is backed up.

Using Redir Coomand
by Guest Jon Scales- 0 replies

I have got an old server that needs to be shut down. I have tried to do this, but my users are accessing files on the new server fine, but the template location still points to the old server, that hasn't had the templates running on it for 8 or 9 months. But when they create a document, rather than going new, they just open an exisiting file. Is there any way I can repoint all these files to look in the correct location of the templates? Or use Server redirection in someway to point them to the correct place. Can anyone please help me with the Redir command syntax. The old location is abcserver\templates, the new location is abc-storage\templates.

Windows 2008 Server Performance Counters missing
by Guest John Meng- 7 replies

Hi, I have 2 Windows 2008 Servers Ent where some of the core Perfmon counters have gone "missing". Plenty of other counters are there (.NET, Exch2007, etc). But some of the main ones like Processor and PhysicalDisk are not listed anymore. And if you try and enable them via DOS, I get a msg stating they are already enabled. I have tried using Windows 2003 directions regarding repairing corrupt Performance Counters (kb 300956) - but no luck. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

server : HP ML370 G3 with Dual processors I have issue with Windows Server 2003 Ent with SP2, when try connect usb hdd. It is not detected. After applying w2k3 service pack 2 I noticed that the USB drive was not always being detected. I was advised to apply the hotfix KB931317 (Windows Server 2003 - KB931317 -x86-ENU.exe) but this has not solved the problem. I first noticed problems with the usb disk being detected while still on SP1. And thought SP2 would cure the problem. The hard drive is a toshiba MK4025GAS sold as a branded mobile hard disk called "flight case". - The usb HHD works fine on my w2k3 SP1 machine and on my XP SP2 machine - I…
