Difference between win 2003 server sbs and the standard edition?
by Guest robix73- 6 replies

Hello to all the people. I work in an organization, We have 60 clients pc and 45 users on the lan I read in many sites that windows 2003 for Small business server can handle 75 users and device and if my organization has more users or device, the transition pack is needed. Does the "windows 2003 server standard edition" has the same limits? Other problem is that someone told me that the 2003 sbs and the 2003 standard edition come both with 5 cal and anyway with our numbers (60 pcs and 45 users) whe should buy extra cal. Is it right? Tnx to all for the answers. Roberto Gerlando

Windows 2008 - DHCP - New Production Environment
by Guest 2nd Lt Cat- 0 replies

Hi All I will be writing in here to pass on some of my experiences with Windows 2008 RTM, MS have sponsored a project for us where a largish organisation will be deploying around 40 W2K8 servers, primarily File, Print and Network Services. I have to admit so far the migration has been going well, until DHCP, this has caused no end of grief. We are over it now, but this is important to perhaps save other people time. 1. Do not even bother to import an export from W2K3 database, they do not import correctly killing the capability to issues addresses, eventually we are now just re-creating new scopes. We experienced a few seperate issues importing the DBs a…

I am running an Nvidia Geforce 6 graphics card on Server 2003 but Nvidia do not make a driver for 2003. Has anyone found a solution to this problem. XP drivers do not work. Max res I can get is 640x480 at 4 bit so the screen is a bit large to be useful you might say.

Currently I have the beta version build 6001 and my Beta license is expiring in 7 days. I have go to my MSDN account and downloaded the server software from the site and have a new evaluation key. I have tried to change the product key on my existing installation and keep getting an error about the key not being valid. I have called and they are telling me they are having problems with windows Server 2008 keys, they giveme another and yet that one is not working. Does anyone have a suggestion for me short of reinstalling the entire system..?

Restore Error Message
by Guest Jill Johnson- 18 replies

We are running Windows 2003 Standard Edition server. We use NTBackup to schedule backup jobs. We backup the files to disk. The backup file is called "daily.bkf". After the backup is complete, we renamed the backup file as today's date. For example, we renamed daily.bkf to 20080403.bkf. Before we started to restore, we renamed the file 20080403.bkf to daily.bkf. When we tried to do a Restore, it gave the error message "Backup file could not be found or is not the file that was request". Is there a way to fix this backup file? Thank you.
