I have installed this evaluation pack on my computer. The installation went fine without any errors. When asked I added a password for the administarator account. I have not made it a domain yet. The problem is that when I reboot my server it does not go to a login prompt it logs me straight in as Administrator. Does anybody know what might be the problem?

Identify if LM Authentication is used
by Guest fridmeister- 0 replies

Is there a way to log or audit the type of LM Authentication used? I'm specifically looking for a way to check if there are any applications or clients that are using legacy LM Authentication that requires LM Hash. I'd like to identify systems prior to bumping up the settings to disable this and use only NTLMv2 and staying by the phone to see if it rings. I see that Event ID 680 gives some information, but cant tell if that will tell me if its using LM or NTLM. Also, is this ID only logged on DC's? I'd like to find an something to capture when each protocol is used: LM, NTLM or Kerberos. Thanks,

Find Process sending UDP Traffic
by Guest Aaron- 3 replies
I'll start at this forum as I'm not sure which one might be better. We have a server that, every few days or so, starts sending out huge amounts of UDP traffic to various IP's. We haven't been able to track down exactly what's causing all of this traffic, and the contents of the UDP packets don't provide any clues. It looks like a binary file being transferred or some such as the packet data is a solid block of seemingly random characters. I'd like to pinpoint the process that is sending this traffic. Is there a tool or command I can use to get this information? I've tried various permutations of Netstat but that only seems to display TCP connections and U…

What is the IRPStackSize maximum value? Is 50 (source: http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B285089&x=15&y=11) ? ....or is 12 (source: http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B106167&x=8&y=4) ? BTW, I'm trying to find a solution for the error message "Not enough server storage is available to process this command" while copying a huge file ( > 40Gb) Thanks! Eduardo

Reconnecting a computer to the domain
by Guest yaro137@googlemail.com- 4 replies

I had to disconnect a computer from the domain and then I added it back from AD users and computers by going to the Computers group where I want to add it back, right-clicking on the group and choosing New>Computer. Then I typed in the computer name. Now when I'm trying to remotely log on to this computer it tells me: "Windows cannot connect to the domain ..., or because your computer account was not found. Try later" What's the problem here? Is this because I'm trying to connect remotely to the computer? Thanks yaro

Stuck on Permissions

Hello, I provide IT/Network support for a K-8 private school. The school uses a Windows 2003 server and Windows XP clients. On the server is a shared folder that is used by workstations in a computer lab for students to save their school assignments. These lab computers all log in with the same user account. We've recently run into the issue where students have been deleting the assignments of other students or moving files and folders to another folder, and I spend a significant amount of time undeleting files, and moving the files around means the instructors are spending additional time trying to find the missing files. In an attempt to resolve this,…

by Guest Jeff- 1 reply

hey When people say "Terminal Server" on a windows platform (Windows Server 2003 platform), to they then really mean "Terminal Server" or do they mean Terminal Services? I've checked microsoft.com and AFAIK they mean Terminal Service, a service which can be set to run on a Windows Server 2003. However I'm not sure... so that's why I post here... (I'm a newbie on Terminal Server)
