by Guest Sean- 1 reply

I came in this morning to most computers on the network not able to acces the network shares on one domain controller. We have multiple sites set up with multiple domain controllers. We are able to acces shares on other servers. The 2 prevelant errors in the event log are: The Group Policy client-side extension PolicyMaker Registry failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension. The client-side extension could not remove machine policy for 'Disable Logon Script on DCs {37D6A3D7-B349-4BB8-B683-23CADACDB2F6}' because it failed with error code '0x8007000d The data is invalid.' See trace file for more details. …

Could anyone please explain how to switch back to the default of having 2 available rdp connections? ty, -b

Windows 2003 Operations Master Roles
by Guest mcpp66- 0 replies

I'm currently studying for the MCSE cert and was hoping that someone could help me to understand the Infrastructure Master role. The MSPress book says that if the Infrastructure role is on the same server as the Global Catalog, that the Infrastructure role will not function because it will never find any data that is out of date. Can someone explain why this happens? Thank you.

We have a single domain with several locations connected together via a WAN. One user in one location is having problems accessing any network shares on one server. Anytime she tries to access a file or printer on this server it prompts for a username/password. Once she enters her credentials she can connect to the resources with no problems. If she logs off and back on she must re-enter her credentials to access the server. She is logging onto the domain. She can access other servers in the domain with no problems and without being prompted for her credentials again. Other users can log on to her PC and access the same server normally, although the acc…

Setting Metabase File Permissions
by Guest learner- 0 replies

Permissions and auditing on the metabase file (%systemroot%system32\inetsrv\metbase.xml or metabase.bin) on all our web servers must be set so that the local IUSR_ and IWAM_ accounts are explicitly denied ALL permissions and all failure events are captured to the Security log. I modify these settings accordingly on several boxes but when I run an audit (within 10 minutes of modification) to verify, all permission and audit settings have reverted back to previous settings. According to our domain admins, there is no GPO doing this. Any ideas?
