Hi all, I have a WSUS 2.0 server running on an SQL 2000 server install specs as follows: OS: windows 2003 WSUS: 2.0 SQL ver: Full sql 2000 standard I am noticing that the report on the front page that says xxx number of machines have not checked in in 30 days or more. is not correct, cuz when I go to the listing and check the last checked in date most are within 30 days. one of the suggestions was to upgrade to WSUS 3.0? as its something I should do anyways. whats the upgrade path from wsus 2.0 with sql 2k to WSUS 3.0? thoughts? -Nex6

Server Activity

I'm looking for some suggestions on how to monitor what a user is doing while they are logged into our server. We have a user with administrative rights that logs into our server and helps us when we have problems. I've noticed some some changes and errors that have given us reason to think there might be something more going on that what he's paid to do. Is there anything we could use to monitor and log what this user is doing? It's always a remote connection so something like a keylogger would not work. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

I hope that someone has run into this problem before... I have been asked to post this here: Our company has a large number of laptop computers (which seem to be the only machines affected for now) that are used outside of the office. The users logon to their computers using a cached domain username and password. The problem.... All of a sudden (and yes, I do mean all of a sudden) when they attempt to logon to their machine they get the error message "The system cannot log you on now because the domain <domain name> is not available". I have seen this many many times, so it didn't concern me to begin with. The part that concerned me is when I…

ESENT TCPSVCS (1216) error every so often.. server is CM 2007/DPMagent/DC/DHCP server.. I get this message every so often and i'm not sure why.. i've tried reconciling the scope in DHCP.. but there were no errors there.. This server is a GC/DC/DNS/DHCP/file server/CM 2007/ DPM agent 2007 installed... (exchange is on a different box) Eventid 215, source ESENT tcpsvcs (1216) The backup has been stopped because it was halted by the client or the connection with the client failed. Any help or clues would be great. As a side note.. i'm unable to replicate data to our DPM 2007 server.. it times out with communication errors.. which may be related...

NTFS Boot Disk Creation
by Guest davidtheweb- 4 replies

I am looking to be able to access NTFS drives from a command line only environment (ie: Not loading all of Windows first, just accessing the drives to do a reinstall of the OS from a partition) I've found DOS Boot Disks, but they only access FATxx drives, not NTFS. A search for NTFS bootables hasn't borne fruit yet, so I'm seeing if our forum has ideas and solutions.
