built-in administrator account password
by Guest EddyVK- 1 reply

Hi, since we have several administrators (domain admins) on our server, I want to secure the built-in administrator account so that only that administrator can change the password for the built-in administrator account and the domain admins can't... I already looked in the Local Security Policy, but didn't find anything useful for this problem... Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance, Eddy VK

Hi There, I have migrated to win2003R2 a file server where Mydocuments are hosted. I would like to put back in place quotas. This should be an easy task with FSRM and templates systems.... . Here is my issue: \\share\user1 \\share\user2 -I would like to estimate directory size of each users, I have users with 1Gb Quota and a few at 3Gb . Is Storage Report Managament is capable of list all directory in \\share\ and reports size ?. -I have to deal with 2 set of quotas (some users at 1Gb somes at 3Gb). Quota entries - Server 2003 Std R2
by Guest user- 2 replies

I have quota's set on a volume but they do not update. According to the quota entry list one user has used 826Mb of 2Gb limit but when I look at thier folder properties it tells me that the size is 6.3Gb! This happens for all users and also new users do not get added to the quota. I've tried disabling/enabling quota but after it rescans it just presents back the original entries. The settings I have are: Enable quota Limit space to 2Gb Set warning 1.75Gb Log event when user exceeds. All other options are off. Any thoughts? Bilbo

I'm using the quota feature in Windows 2003 R2 and have set up an auto quota. Several folders have exceed this limit & using the command option I've reassigned these folders to a new quota granting them a temporary extension. The usage on these folders has now dropped, so how do I reassign them back to the original auto quota ?? Thanks

by Guest NRC Help- 6 replies

Hello all, We have an Windows 2003 SP2, Exchange 2003 SP2 server which had a drive fail (Dell PowerEdge 2650, 5 drives all in a single RAID 5 container). The drive was replaced, virtual disk auto-regenerated, and Dell OpenManage says everything is OK. However, we are seeing the error messages below in the event logs about once per day (they began before the drive was actually swapped out) I assume my only option here is to run chkdsk? If so, which options do you recommend? I know the system will need to be rebooted for any corrections to be made by chkdsk, so this will need to occur after hours, and I would like to minimize down time while at the s…

Dear All, I don't know if this is possible, but I thought I'd ask.... Is there anyway of using my server as a webcam server? I know it is a strange request, but does anybody know of any software or configuration, so if more than 2 people want to webcam, it can all go through the same place, and all can see everybody's camera? (2 people can just use Messenger, or equivalent) Hope this makes sense... Regards Paul.

Move User's "My Docs" to network?
by Guest Beau- 2 replies

Hello All! First, sorry if this is in the wrong forum and second, sorry but I am new and inexperienced at this. I administer my brother's company of about 15 people and everything is fine and running smooth on my limited knowledge. However, recently the need to re-direct users "my Documents" folders from their local "c" drive to their "personal" folder (P drive) on the network store has emerged. I know this can be done, but I have no idea how do it. I think it has something with the roaming profiles and stuff. Can any take the time to help me or direct me to a website that would have the instructions. Thank y ou VERY much... -- Beau
