Windows Time service warnings: discontinuous changes in system clo

Hi! I have a problem with time synchronization on a MS Windows Server 2003 SP2. In the Windows domain there are two DCs (both Windows Server 2003 SP2). Their Windows Time Services (W32Time) are set as follows (I used advice in http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/a0fcd250-e5f7-41b3-b0e8-240f8236e2101033.mspx?mfr=true ): The DC1 (has PDC role) synchronizes time with two NTP servers on the Internet (zg1.ntp.carnet.hr and zg2.ntp.carnet.hr). I set this using the following commands: w32tm /config /update /manualpeerlist:"zg1.ntp.CARNet.hr,0x8 zg2.ntp.CARNet.hr,0x8" /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes net stop w32time net start w32time …

Hi, I am decommisioning a server on our network that is a print server for 6 printers, I want to be able to move the printers from this server to another existing print server. All printers are deployed to the clients using the printer management tool. if i simply install the printers on the new server and redeploy, then i will have to go to every client PC and delete the old printer. is there a way to "un-deploy" or remove the old printers from all clients? (xp) i have found a microsoft tool called "printer migrator 3.1" but am not sure if this will accomodate my requirements. please help

importing novell DHCP settings to Windows 2003 server
by Guest InTroubleAgain- 0 replies

We are trying to migrate from Novell 6.5 to Windows 2003 Server as part of the lab we need to export DNS/DHCP from novell and import into Server 2003. We can export Novell fine to a text file but seem unable to find a way to import that back into Server 2003, does anyone have any ideas about how to go about this as we do not want to have to re-create all the scopes and fixed IP's again. Cheers, James.

slow preparing network connections

I recently deployed an exchange server at a school that I do IT support for, and all was going well. Just last week, It started to slow down in regards to shutting down and starting up. When the Ethernet cable is plugged in, it sits there in excess of 20 mins, at which point I restart the machine manually by holding the button in. When the Ethernet cable is unplugged during startup, the machine will load instantly, and log into a cached profile. When the Ethernet cable is plugged back in after login, all network services (but not the ones relevant to exchange) are restored. TCP/IP is set manually, with the Prefered DNS being the main DC, and the Alternate be…

Trying to connect from my server to workstation interactively and get error message that the workstation security policy will not allow interactive conections. Two newer XP-P allow and 3 older do not. What must I do to get the 3 older ones to allow interactive conections. The server users are set to allow, but the workstations must likewise be set. I don't see where to do this. Thanks

VPN Connections Do Not Redial On Lost Connection
by Guest markmidwest- 0 replies
I have several remote users that connect to my Windows 2003 server via VPN, most can connect in the morning and work fine all day but a couple of them will lose the connection randomly. The icon still shows in the systray like they are connected but they cannot access any server data, they have to disconnect & then reconnect to start working again. I have configured the VPN client to redial if the connection is lost but since the icon is still showing it looks like the connection isn't really lost. Thanks in advance for your help.

by Guest CharlieH- 0 replies

I have a Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition VM in Virtual PC. I want to add Media Services. When I try to do so through Add Windows Components, and when it prompts for file location, I browse to the folder where my extracted ISO image is. The actual file is there, but the installer refuses to read it. Any ideas? -- Charlie

Hello People, My physical computer and O.S. (XP Pro) are fine, and when I launch several other virtual machines-no problem. But when I try to launch a domain virtual controllor machine I get a bunch of different errors, usually NTLDR is corrupt or can't find \windows\system32\config\system or unkown disk related errors. Also get the same errors on a Vista box. I've reinstalled several times, nothing in the BIOS changes anything, I've run out of ideas, help. Hans

FSRM - unable to create quota or file screening template
by Guest isyed- 0 replies

I have Windows 2003 R2 SP2. I have installed the FSRM component from Add/Remove program. I can run the storage report without any problems. But whenever I try to create a quota or file screening template, I get an error message "The Quota Management Filter Driver Service or File Screening Filter Driver service is not running". FSRM service is running and I have stop/start several time but no luck. I also have uninstall/reinstall the FSRM component serveral time but keep getting the same error message. I have run fltmc and confirm that Quote and Datascrn filter are installed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
