Is there a way for me to contact the developer of the Lotus Notes, Windows 4.0 Search, plugin? The current version only supports Lotus Notes 7.x.. We're on 8.5 under Vista 64bit. I could find no "feedback" option. Cheers, Jim

XP x64 safe mode BSOD

XP x64, it's years that my "Safe Mode" boot does not work, it goes to BSOD. I can't even remember how I lost it, maybe installing graphic drivers. I didn't bother up to know, as I am not able to reinstall a new HaupPauge HVR 4000 tv card (other thread). I wanted to access devices in safe mode to remove them, any other attempt failed, digital tuners are no more available as they was at first installation, I tryed moving the board to different pci slot, uninstall etc. but can't get the digital tuners back, analog tuners work fine, with the initial problem that analog audio is very bad. Which way do you suggest to attempt to "repair" the system? Backup and rein…

Hello, I just bought and compiled a new pc and now im trying to install xp 64 bit on it. all goes well, the cd starts, it starts loading the setup files and then the white bar at the bottom sais "Setup is starting Windows" and normally this should take only a few seconds but from this point on it wont respond anymore. i tried installing it again and agian i even tried the normal windows xp pro but nothing works. can anyone help me? Earlier messages posted around July 6th.... Again I had to restore Vista Ultimate 64bit from an Acronis image and again, the restored image had NO restore points. Additional information, MS Update then proceeded to install around 16 updates, both to Office and to Vista and I recognized that some of them I'd installed previously so not only did I lose my restore points but I also either lost the updates or whatever pointer it is that tells MS Update that an update is installed. The image I restored was made just about two hours before the restore because I planned to mess with some software, it didn't work nor did it uninstall so the restore was the …

These guys http://www.majorgeeks.com/Nvidia_Forceware_for_Vista_d5935.html say there is a new release of Nvidia drivers with PhysX support! Ageia PhysX was an add-in card that supported the law of physics in games. NVidia bought Ageia and now no separate card is needed. These drivers still don't show up in NVidia's web site. Carlos

Vista Business 64bit / Unable to install WDS 4.0

When I attempt to install, I get the following error. "The update does not apply to your system". I have downloaded the update for Windows Vista 64bit SP1. The file name is Windows6.0-KB940157-x64 and I pulled it directly from the Windows Search site. Suggestions? Since GOOGLE doesn't yet have a search tool for 64bit Vista, it's kinda' critical to me that I get this installed and working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jim P.S. I've checked with windows update, and I'm current on everything.

Over the last 6 months or so I have had to format and reinstall Vista 64 wSP-1 a few times due to programs not responding and I am unable to track down the problem. I'm trying to run programs, they do open then pauses for 10 - 15 seconds when trying to close I get not responding then end process message and trying to end process nothing happens. I can not do anything even ctrl/alt/delete. If I wait awhile things come back to normal until it happens again. I have removed the AV software and is still the same, run chkdsk, virus & malware scans all come back as ok. Reading a few posts out there, people are saying it's a common problem. cheers

My Plan To build a new and better computer for my Digital Photography. So far I have made a tentative decision to use an Intel S5000XVNSATA motherboard with a Xenon 5130 Processor. I will start out with 8GB of memory. Also I will install/use the Windows XP Pro 64 Bit Operating System. My Epson printer has a 64 bit driver available. Is all the above feasable? Quadro 4 755 XGL has no drivers for vista 64. That I can find I would be happy with that if I could get past agp mode I am back at the 7600GS with some functionality system is stable if I am careful. That was graphic no pun intended. I had had a tech, certified and all help flash bios and all. Short story he never plugged video card in. In my swapping cards back and forth noticed that it need to be plugged in. rating is 4.4 I can get to elevated screen or what ever it is. Problem was with being able to get to secure desk top without crashing machine I was in a jam. This time I think I have it. I may even try the last 2 sticks of ram. It has been a fight but I think that may have been problem. Thank You Thank you

dual opterons, tyan mother board 2885, highpoint raid card 1820, raid 5 , 5 raptors, 3 other for scratch photos, spare, currently 2 gigs ecc registered corsair memory 512 sticks, ultimate on raid c drive. Installed with all important updates, had to eliminate 2 gigs of memory think one was bad to get it to install. System is stable with photo shop cs , office 2007 updating now, avast home. I just installed finally Vista Ultimate 64. After several tries I did get it installed on a Tyan 2885 board with dual singlecore opterons to a raid 5 on a Highpoint 1820 card. I did a clean install with all other stuff removed even had to use a floppy to get vista to see raid 5 as c drive but that has been accomplished. After many tries. I had to remove all memory and start with one stick Corsair 3200 memory all are matche512 sticks. I have system running with 4 sticks 2 gigs, more it is funky, sorry about technical term. I did find 2 that would not work as a single stick. Others worked just fine. Now system works until I hit something that needs to chang…

Hey gang, I run AVG 8 , free version, on my Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I thought I would ask here first, in case anyone else has run across this. Recently, the update manager has stopped working in it, for me. When I boot, the icon will just have a red mark in it, and when I open the program from the notifcation area, it states the update manager is not working. I basically have to manually update the program each day. I have tried different settings under advanced-tools-update manager, but none seem to change this behaviour. Thought I would check here for ideas first, would appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks, -- Don

Instability with 4gb ram?

Has anyone noticed any instability with XP64 when 4GB of ram that goes away when using 2GB? I'm struggling with a random blue screen problem that seems to go away when I run with 2GB of ram - any 2GB. The actual error varies, and tends to be strange stuff like pfn_list_corrupt, etc., which usually points to hardware problems. So far it seems to work fine if I run with 2GB, and it doesn't seem to matter which memory sticks, or which slots they are in. This makes me wonder if my mobo just can't handle 4GB, or if there might be XP64 issues with that much memory?
