iexplor.exe 32-bit instead of 64-bit

Hi, I have Windows XP Pro X64. I checked Windows Task Manager and discovered that my computer is using "iexplore.exe *32" instead of *64. I get automatic updates so I'm sure that my computer is up-to-date. When is an X64 version expected to come out? -- Denise ~ If you don't know where you came from, you won't know where you're going.

Path not being searched...?!
by Guest Homer J. Simpson- 8 replies

Hi all, Today I've noticed some strange problem, and the more I look at it the more I'm getting convinced that something is *very* wrong with my system. It started when I ran ipconfig from a command prompt: "'ipconfig' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." In other word, it couldn't find the ipconfig.exe. Sure enough, it was in the system32 folder. I managed to run it from there without any problem. I switched back to some other random folder, tried to run it again, and sure enough, it failed with the same message. 'set path' showed that %SystemRoot%\system32 is part of the search path. %System…

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
by Guest TC- 6 replies

I have an x64 Vista Ultimate installation that is getting this error seemingly at random. Some research has shown this as likely to be a driver problem and Verifier to be the method to check this. Unfortunately, while Verifier does throw a different error, stating that a driver is attempting to corrupt the list, it does not identify the offending driver. Furthermore, I don't seem to be able to find a dump produced anywhere even though the system is set to produce a kernal memory dump as well as a log entry. Is there another method to identify the offending driver that I am overlooking? Does anyone know where the dumps are or why I'm not seeing them? …

I have windows server 2003 x64 running in 2 servers that have the same configuration and are a part of a custer from Oracle (RAC). Some times one of servers crashes with the message: "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000109 (0xa3a03a389148f4f0, 0x0000000000000000, 0xd89a905d7b98fd53, 0x0000000000000101). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP." This situation happens most of the times in node 2 but once in a while it happens in node 1. Can anyone help me?

Process preventing shutdown
by Guest PedroAsani- 5 replies

So I did a fresh install of X64 with SP2, got all my updates etc. Now one of them is stopping it from rebooting my computer when I say Restart, and shutting it down when I tell it to turn off. The Application log says its a Userenv:1517 error, which means a process didnt terminate correctly. The two problems I have are: It's a process running under SYSTEM. I can't tell which one. So, it's one of the most recent Automatic Updates I did, since a fresh install with no updates doesn't have this problem. And it appears to be an important one. Any way of telling which one it is?

bootVis for x64
by Guest Fabien- 0 replies

Hello, I know bootvis is no longer public but I don't want to use it for the optimization system, I want the boot time details. Does anyone know where I can find a piece of software, if there is no bootvis for x64, that could tell me at least how long takes my computer to boot. I have already thought about a watch but it's not accurate enough for my purpose ^^ Thanks. Regards, Fabien
