Performance problems from mouse input?

Howdy- Is it possible (I feel like I've exhausted many other options) that the *very* sluggish/borderline unresponsive (but unidentifiable in perfmon or taskman) performance I'm seeing in my Win2003 EE R2 SP2 is being caused by RDP client mouse movement??? - If I log on to a physical console, it operates fine for Keyboard & Mouse - If I connect with an out-of-band method (Dell DRAC) K&M is fine - If I connect with RDP and use applications with _only_ my keyboard (alt-tab, Windows cursor, etc.) it operates fine - If I try to use the mouse for any action from RDP connection, it takes several seconds to process the input and perform the operation […

by Guest yuvalBD- 0 replies

Hi, I am testing ts 2008 farm env' (include TS gateway, ts servers,ts session broker) using smart card to validate user logon. My problem is that sometimes , about 1 of 5, logon attempts using smart card Is not complete. i mean that instead of complete the logon process, the session is stuck in Logon screen, waiting for the user to enter username/pass. usually after 1/2 attempt the user succeed to complete the logon process. this Behavior is happing exactly in two separate Env' that we have. This is not happing if we using regular username\password method. than'x yuval.

How to register a virtual driver dll with connection created with RDP mmc in Windows 2003 Hello everybody, I have a free small utility program TSRemoteExec on my website at http://www.mqtechnologies.com This program allows to execute a command line on the client (local) machine from a session under Terminal Server. It uses virtual channel to send the the command to the client, on the client machine there is a virtual driver, that is a dll and it has to be registered with MS RDP connection, as documented here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Aa383583.aspx However, there is one person who asks me how to regster this dll with connection created…

restrict certain users to internal-only access?
by Guest Walter- 0 replies

Is it possible to restrict certain users (or groups) so that they can access the terminal service only within the office, say using a thin client, but not have access remotely? I've seen others asking this question and the only answer I've seen so far recommends using a program called SecureRDP. I found that program, but it doesn't appear to be supported any longer. Many thanks, Walter

TS Session Directory and NLB
by Guest Shane Franchina- 0 replies

Hi, I have 5 terminal servers running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition R2 SP2. They are running NLB and together form a NLB cluster. We also have a terminal services session directory running on another server in the organisation and all servers are a member of this session directory. Each terminal server has 2 network interfaces, one for the clients to connect to (and the one that NLB is enabled on), and the other one is a management interface. The issue that we are having is with the configuration of one particular terminal server. In it's session directory configuration screen, there is no option to select the correct interface for redire…

Windows 2003 Server - Terminal Services - Drive Mapping
by Guest SnorkyTheWeasel- 0 replies

Windows 2003 Server - Terminal Services - Drive Mapping Not your usual drive mapping issues..... Objective: * Make the server's D: Drive appear to the client as the C: Drive. * Make the remote terminal's CD-ROM Drive appear to the client as the D: [/b]Drive. * The remote terminal's C: drive can be mapped to anything ( except C: D: H: ). We store user data and profiles on the H: Drive, which is mapped to Current Condition: * The server's C: Drive is for system files. * The server's D: Drive is for everything else. Reason: Install educational software on the server so that students using TS can access the software from their TS clients. (Note: the lice…

Hi I am trying to achieve something very specific using RDP. I have 2 windows XP systems. System 1 is currently in a session and System 2 RDPs into System1. This is the simple part. Can I detect from a running application on System 1 that I am about to be logged off because System 2 is requesting a connection. I need to detect it before the session is closed and moved to system 2. I tried all the WTS_SESSION_CHANGE messages and its already too late the system has already been locked or logged off. Thanks for any ideas, Marc -- ....

Hello Community, does anyone have a detailed description (beside the one from BMadden) how the License Check is done for a Client? I have an issue with a Dual NAT connection and the Winlogon does never happen, so I assume it's stuck at the validation check of the TS cal. Thanks for the replies Carsten

Hi! We have the need to migrate from local user profiles on a terminalserver to roaming user profiles. There are 1 existing terminalserver, and we have just set up 1 new (Citrix farm). I`ve tested on a pilot user, and did the following: -Set a profilepath on the AD-user (Terminal services profile path) -Logged on with that user on the old server and saw that the profile was saved to the central location -Logged on with that user to the new terminal server I then noticed that the Taskbar/Start-menu was placed in the default location at the bottom, on the old server it was placed at the right side. Also, the Favourites-folder wasn`t roaming/migrated. …
