I can create a new database and with in a few minutes is crashed and tries to create a backup of the database. On a windows 2003 TS. If a user logs into TS what printers should they see. I would think they would see shared printers that are configured on the TS plus any local (to their PC) printers that are dynamically created on the TS for use by that session (would not see other session printers). How wrong am I? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

by Guest XateEsix- 3 replies

Hello, I am working on deploying Server 2008 Terminal Services in a Small Business Server 2003 environement. I have several questions I need assistance with. 1. As I understand it TS CALS are included as part of the SBS CAL. Can someone confirm this? 2. I was told by a Microsoft Sales Support Rep that Server 2008 Terminal Services could be deployed using the SBS 2003 CALs. Can anyone confirm this? 3. If the answers to questions 1 & 2 are both true then can someone help me understand how it needs to be configured to work? 4. What version and on what server should the license server be running? In testing the terminal services work fine on the 20…

In IE7, select Tools, Internet Options. The Security level for this zone defaults to High and the slide bar is inactive no matter what I try. Is there a place to change this for the remote connection so the slide bar is active or change it to medium?

TS W2K3 Registration Expired
by Guest jremmc- 3 replies

We purchased W2K3 TS with 10 TS CALs in January 2006. Aren't these permanent and why would our registration expire? (That's the message I got in TS Licensing app when walking thru the licensing wizard after wizard contacted MS Activation Server -- I cancelled out since I obviously was surprised and want to find out reason for expire and Help is no Help at all) TS Licensing app shows the 10 CALs listed in the columns "Total" and "Available" for "W2K3 TS Per User CAl Token" type "Retail Purchase"; however, the "Issued" column shows "Not Applicable". And there's a "Temporary Licenses for W2K3 TC Per Device CAL token" showing with nothing in the Total and A…

Stored Usernames and Passwords
by Guest wmeehan79@gmail.com- 3 replies

We have a Citrix server that until now was not a member of the domain. To overcome this there was a stored password setup under the Admin account, this provided access to the file server on the domain. I've now joined the Citrix server to the domain but i'm having authentication problems. It seems that the Citrix machine is still using the stored login, even tho I did remove that. I've tried disabling the Protected Storage Service, and deleting the reg keys, but that's had no effect. I have no idea where else to look, so any advice would be greatly received. The server is running Windows Server 2003. Thanks Wayne

Language icon on taskbar
by Guest Asif Shah- 6 replies

Hello. I am using TS 2000 server. I have setup the regional settings to switch between English and Japanese. However, those settings dont show up for all users. Only I have the language icon on the taskbar. For other users, I have to go and add it manually for each user. I know in XP there is an option to make this change for all users. Does 2000 have the same option somewhere? Thanks.

Software Restriction Policy
by Guest Gavin- 3 replies
Hi All, We recently applied a software restriction policy on our terminal servers to stop a group of users who are executing exe's that are prohibited by our company’s policy. When one of these exe's is executed, it displays a message about not being able to execute because of software restrictions. Was wondering if there is a way to suppress this message, so that it is still logged to the event log, but the user doesn’t see any message? Thanks in advance, Gavin

Command.com
by Guest Gavin- 3 replies

Hi All, We have approx 30 terminal servers where I work, and we are having some issues with users trying to use command prompt. We have disabled cmd.exe, however the users are still able to create a shortcut/batch file to access command.com. Was wondering if there is a way to disable this through group policy, as I would like to apply the same restriction to the pc's that we have as well. I have tested changing the permissions on command.com, and it seems to work well, however, am not entirely keen on having to visit each computer/login to each server separately. Thanks, Gavin
