Good Day, We have a general account for guests to log onto terminal services. The issue is if we have more then one connection then the other user gets kicked out. I don't want to turn on multiple sessions, is there a way to get terminal server to not kick out a current session if someone else logs in? Thanks, Ray

Vista-to-XP Remote Desktop Crashing Please Help!
by Guest Chris Shearer Cooper- 1 reply

Sorry for the cross-post but I'm desparate!! Murphy's Law has struck with a vengeance, I leave tomorrow on a two-week business trip and my laptop has chosen this time to lose its mind. When I try to use Remote Desktop on my Vista laptop to connect to my XP desktop (something I have done thousands of times in the past), it makes the connection, asks for my password, starts to draw the screen, and then freezes. If I double-click on the little Remote Desktop tabby thing at the top of the screen, it eventually returns me to my laptop screen with the message "unhandled win32 exception occurred in mstsc.exe [532]" and an offer to invoke a debugger (which is…

Hello, I'm installing a Demo Virtual Machine. Windows 2003 server Enterprise and Terminal Services. I don't have TS licenses, but its only a 30 days demo of TS and Citrix. How can I configure the terminal server to 120 grace days. Per User or Per Computer?. Every time I try to log on the error is "To log on this remote computer you must have Terminal Server User Access permissions on this computer". The user is member of "Remote Desktop Users". What is the problem?? Best regards, SilviaLl.

We have a Terminal Server 2003 which has MapBook installed. In order for all the TS users to use MapBook a separate installation of DLLs using a batchfile is required. We've tried to register the DLLs normally...that didn't work. So, we let the TS administrator install the DLLs. That didn't work. So, what is the way to register DLLs in Terminal Server so all users have access to them?

Step by Step Guide to Implementing TS?
by Guest PM2- 1 reply
I have found a Technet step by step guide for Remoteapp and Gateway services, but I can't find one for simply getting TS up and running. I have just built a Windows 2008 development server and I can't connect from my clients. I am not sure if I have got 'Remote' permissions set wrong, whether it's a TSCAL issue or what. I don't want to post what might appear to be silly questions here if there's a guide to cover basic installation overview and things to check. Can anyone point me in the right direction for an idiots guide? What I am hoping to achieve is to give 3 users a TS desktop on the 2008 server with the Vista Experience feature installed - to…

Identify source session condaction nw activity
by Guest Nilesh- 0 replies

Hi, I am trying to distinguish a network connection, particularly SMB connection, based on its source Terminal Session. Using network management APIs I can distinguish it based on User, however it is possible that the same user can logon to two different TS sessions at same time. At TDI or NDIS level I am not able to find any identifier to distinguish between different TS session. Is there any way to do this either in user or kernel mode? Thank in advance.. Nilesh

TS Gateway / TS Web
by Guest RandyH- 2 replies

We have TS Gateway and TS Web working like a champ, but I have an issue with TSWeb and the Remote Desktop tab. Of course from inside the network, I can use the TSWeb tab to RDP to other servers in out network. But from outside the network, a message appears saying it can't find the remote computer, type the ip or name etc . . . If I use the RDP client and supply my TSGateway settings, I can successfully RDP to any server using TSGateway and the RDP Client. How can I get to other servers on the network using the Remote Desktop tab in TSweb outside the network? my TSRAP policy is set too: Access allowed to all network resources . . Tia, RandyH

I can add users (from the users forest) to the Remote Users Group of my Terminal server (install in the resource forest). I can't login to the Terminal server because I can't select the User domain. After I upgraded from windows 2000 to windows 2003 standard edition, rdp no longer functions on my server. Terminal Services service will not start. I've tried replacing termdd.sys, I've confirmed that remote boxes are checked. Short of running a repair on this server, has anyone seen this before and know of a solution? Thanks!

No servers visible in TS Licensing
by Guest Paul- 8 replies
I have a Windows 2003 Terminal Server, Standard Edition SP2, it is in a Workgroup, the only member, there is no Domain or AD. This is a replacement server, virtualised in XEN on SLES 10 SP1, on new hardware. Much faster than the old physical machine. TS Manager and TS Licensing are on the same server. Terminal Services is functional and has been for months. I thought now is a good time to install the licenses. Opening up Terminal Services Licensing I see no servers at all. Terminal Services Manager appears to be happy. Where should I be looking? Thanks, Paul.

TS 2008 license server credentials problem
by Guest brianz123- 2 replies

I have a Server 2008 DC running with an activated LS with 40 User CALs installed. I installed a new Server 2008 member server to the domain with the Terminal Services role and it automatically discovers the DC for licensing, however the Diagnostics indicate that the credentials are not available to access the LS. When I try to provide credentials, it won't take the username and password for the domain admin account and keeps popping up the login dialog. What am I missing here? (Note: I have a 2003 Server that is getting temporary device licenses from this same LS without any configuration.)

Hi, I am using Windows Server 2008 Terminal Server in Application mode along with Vista SP1 clients. The seamless window feature is working fine, but now and then, the application I pubslihed is client/server application. The problem is, now and then few popups my application displays are getting hidden in the terminal server session by the client....all the client sees is, "close popups" when we try to close the application, but the POPUP window is hidden.. .So, all I need to do is terminate the client session and restart the application fresh. Any help is appreciated. Application is developed using Visual Basic 6.0 / SQL database backend. Thanks. -- …

I have Windows TS on a 2003 Server. It is a domain controller along with another DC. I have several user profiles that work 100%. I am in process of setting up another user to access this TS to run some apps. This user is an admin, and a member of rem desk users, etc, and can log into the TS successfully both locally and remotely. But the profile created does NOT have a sub WINDOWS folder inside of it that I need to copy some ini files into. I have attempted to move a working WINDOWS folder from another working profile with no success. I have created a windows folder and put the necessary files into it and I also deleted the profile and logged into …

Removing roaming profiles
by Guest Mike \(NLX\)- 3 replies

I need to remove roaming profiles from one of my Terminal Servers. There are two terminal servers in the domain and are located in their own OU. That OU had a Group Policy associated with it that set the Roaming Profile path. I disabled that GPO but the profiles were still loading from the server location. I then stopped sharing the server profile location and as expected got the profile cannot be found error when a user logged in. I then deleted the GPO link to the OU. But still get the Server Profile Location error when logging in. Anyone have any ideas? I want the users to use new local profiles when logging into the 2nd terminal sever. tha…
