Terminal per-user licensing over multiple devices...
by Guest centre21- 1 reply

I have a question and I'm hoping someone can answer it for me fairly easily - just to make things simple, say I have two per-user licenses and 10 devices that access TS. If I log into five devices with User1 and the other five with User2, will I be able to access TS? Or does TS, even though it's licensed per-user, regard each device as a separate login/license?

Terminal Server 2008 Web Access via Internet
by Guest Mark- 2 replies

I installed a 2008 Standard Server with TS or Terminal Services and all appears to work fine from within the LAN using XP machines with Srvpk3 and Vista machines w/Srvpk1. However, despite opening up ports 3389 and 443 on the firewall, I am still unable to access the TS from the internet? Furthemore, I've tried this on two different servers, on two different networks (local and public), and two different firewalls and still am unable to access TS Apps. I get the blank white page, page could not be displayed. Has anyone come across this TS inaccessibilty issue from the internet and resolved it? Thank you, Mark -- "Computer Networking is Advantag…

TS 2008 printing to a local print server
by Guest Roman Tumaykin- 2 replies

Hi all, I've got the following problem. I have Terminal Services on Windows server 2008 with a few apps enabled to be used through the TS RemoteApp. Some of those applications need to print to the local printers. So far I can't seem to do so. The remote app sees the redirected printer on my laptop, displays the dialog, then I can see that it really sends some data to the printer (data transfer led blinks on the print server) and then nothing.... However when I try to print to an Acrobat printer on my laptop, then everything works fine. Is this a problem with my print server which is rfrelatively old one, or is it a problem with the printer - HP DeskJ…

I'm using the TS ActiveX control in a web page to access our TS Gateway (windows server 2008). When I'm connected to the server it is displayed in the browser. I'm trying to figure out how to make the Remote App display the new way, as if it were running on the user's computer. Jeremy

Windows Server 2008 Terminal Services in W2K AD Domain?
by Guest LVAdmin- 5 replies

Greetings, I have a Win2K SMall Business Server-based domain, and have recently added a 2008 member server that is intended to be a Terminal Server. I have purchased 5 User Cals to start, and managed to install and activate them, but I seem to have a problem with getting them issued to incoming users. When I go into TS Licensing Manager, and choose Review Configuration, I see a yellow exclamation point indicating the following: "This license server is not a member of the Terminal Server License Servers group in Active Directory Domain Services. This license server will not be able to issue TS Per User CALSs to users int eh domain, and you will not be…

Session Expired
by Guest Tom B.- 1 reply

Hi. I have a user who uses a PC to connect to a terminal server for a specific application. He will be able to connect for a day or two and then after that any time he tries to connect he immediately gets 'session expired'. If he goes to another PC, he can work fine multiple days, the issue never occurs. If another user uses his PC the issue will happen to them. So it seems to be an issue occuring that's specific to the computer. If we rename his local profile (C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxxxx) and have him log back in, he can then connect again for a day or two then the issue occurs again. Does anyone have any ideas what might be occurring? …

Windows 2008 TS Memory
by Guest Schmeg- 4 replies

I have a Windows 2008 Stanard 32-bit terminal server. I need to run a Windows 2003 Standard 32-bit terminal server on it as a virtual machine. Our applications are not 64-bit compatible and do not have near term plans to support it. I know Windows 2008 Standard has a memory limit of 4G. With the virtual machine scenario, I am limited to splitting the 4G or could I physically put 8G in the box and split 4G for the host OS and 4g for the guest OS ?

Single Sign Logon for XP SP3 and TS Gateway - possible?
by Guest Gross, Michael- 1 reply

Hi, I'm currently testing Single Sign Logon using Windows XP SP3 as client and Windows Server 2008 as Terminal Server. After enabling CredSSP and configuring Authentication Delegation like described in http://www.ravenreport.com/blog/category/General.aspx and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951608 SSO from Windows XP SP3 to 2008 Terminal Server works just fine. However, I would also like to use SSO for logging on to TS Gateway as described for Vista here: http://blogs.msdn.com/ts/archive/2007/04/19/how-to-enable-single-sign-on-for-my-terminal-server-connections.aspx Does anyone have a clue which registry settings in Windows XP need to be changed for a…
