Xbox Wire’s Danielle Partis is not a fan of scary games, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl – which launches today on Xbox Series X|S and PC – is a first-person survival journey where The Zone encompasses a “unique, complex and compelling setting to unravel.” She writes, “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is an open world affair, in which you’re expected to fend for yourself in brutal and unpredictable situations, where basically any living thing you come across can and will hurt you. The pilot had been missing for about a week, last seen taking off from an airport in Covington, Washington, heading home in his Piper Dakota to Puyallup, about 36 miles south of Seattle. Though he had gone down in the heavily developed and densely populated suburbs, no one had been able to find him or his small aircraft. This was 2007 and Khoi Duong was on an air mission as part of a search and rescue team. He’d already gone up once that day looking for the missing pilot, eyes continually scanning the landscape below, looking for something, anything, that could lead them to him and his aircraft. Duong, who was raised in Seattle, was a high school intern at Microsoft. Aft…

But navigating the over 100 petabytes of collected data can be challenging, which is why NASA has collaborated with Microsoft to explore the use of a custom copilot using Azure OpenAI Service to develop NASA’s Earth Copilot, which could transform how people interact with Earth’s data. Geospatial data is complex, a…
