https://b.thumbs.redditmedia.com/77e1Wdmcku51BBDlj8KTjagh1tpWnON7eHBcadMXUYY.jpg Hello all, After updating to Sequoia I found my emoji picker to be huge, is there any setting to revert it to the old size? I can only find how to resize the Character Viewer as shown on the second screenshot, with no effect to the compact view. Does anyone know of an adapter or an alternative way to recover the data from these SSDs? submitted by /u/Klowbi__ [link] [comments]

Mail - outlook asking for confirmation to delete emails all of a sudden since update to iO18.2 but only for one account…?
by Guest /u/Bruise197- 0 replies
I’ve got 2 outlook inboxes in my mail app. I tend to delete my bin and spam folder quite regularly. Since the upgrade to iOS18.2 though, one of the mailbox keeps on asking me if I’m sure I want to delete the emails (across server…?) whilst this doesn’t happen on the second account. I checked the settings for mail and I have the confirmation of deletion toggled off. I’m confused about why this is happening… any ideas? Wondering if this related to the phone update or outlook? submitted by /u/Bruise197 [link] [comments]

SSH: Convenient password management for server that does not allow SSH keys
by Guest /u/fori1to10- 0 replies

I need to connect by SSH to a remote server that does not accept SSH keys. They only allow SSH authentication by username and password. Is there a way to setup things such that my terminal (or shell, or something) remembers my password for this remote, so I don't have to type it every time I login? My local computer is a Mac, so I'm looking for solutions that I can set up on macOS or some Mac App. submitted by /u/fori1to10 [link] [comments]

Mac Pro 5.1 slow boot, sometimes won't shutdown and boot (Big Sur)
by Guest jeremiasm- 0 replies

When I first upgraded my Mac Pro 5.1 (2010, one CPU) from High Sierra to Big Sur I managed to upgarde the bootrom succesfully (with a bunch of trying out, because then the Mac Pro won't shut down in Mojave installers bootrom update section) So I installed the BigSur 11.2.3 with barrykn micropatcher to NVME-PCIe card. I remember having boot problems and even having to install the os again because I got a stop sign. The shutdown / startup problems were even more complicated because of I... Anyone ever had music playing over your phone call while using hands free mode?
by Guest PinkyMacGodess- 0 replies

Somehow my car sound system was playing music from my iPhone which was surprising but sounded great (none of the music sucked), and I searched, at a stoplight, the phone number for a store I was heading to to make sure they had something I was looking for. I hear the ringing through the speakers, and hear, barely under the audio, the person talking. I tried to turn the system off, but still hear the music and the person trying to answer my call. I couldn't get the music to stop, and hit the... Read more Continue reading...

Mac Pro 7,1 + "cheap" 6900XT + Pro Display XDR
by Guest Canubis- 0 replies

I am thinking about upgrading my setup to a new Mac Pro 7,1 + Pro Display XDR. (I may wait a few more weeks because of the rumors of Apple possibly speed bumping the current MP.) The price Apple asks for the W6900X seems ridiculous compared to retail prices of a RX 6900 XT – the latter even seems to perform better under some tests seen at barefeats.com. Is there any downside or anything speaking against a setup like this: - Mac Pro 7,1 with cheapest Apple GPU option 580X - Sapphire Nitro+... Read more Source: MacRumors

15.4 Update killed Wireless Charging?
by Guest edtorious- 0 replies

So after I updated my iPhone 13 Pro to ios 15.4. I noticed my phone is no longer charging wirelessly. I removed the case. I tried different wireless pads. I tried apple's official magsafe and adapter direct to an outlet but still not charging. I tried to restart and force restart still nothing. It still charges however thru lightning cable. Should I try factory reset or DFU mode? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Continue reading...

Is a GPU bottlenecked in a 5,1?
by Guest eicca- 0 replies
My future computer plans include an Apple Silicon desktop, which will require me to build a gaming PC. My cMP currently serves as both. Question is, does the 5,1's older hardware limit a modern GPU (like my RX580) in any way? Would keeping the RX580 for my gaming PC result in better graphics performance with the newer hardware? Not that it's unsatisfactory in the cMP. Just curious if the gap in hardware generations is hindering the GPU in any way. Source: MacRumors

Possible iPhone 7 Plus SSD failure
by Guest SpiritualTourist6545- 0 replies

Hello everyone, My iPhone 7 Plus has a strange behaviour. Sometimes apps failed to open. If they do, the UI is very laggy. I am not a tech guy, but I tried to investigate a bit. I found on the Internet that when something like that happens on PC, possible cause could be the hard disk. I did some testing on my device disk and this is what I got: JazzDiskBench https://forums.macrumors.com/data/attachments/1107/1107172-c5ad01a4c8b25f8fa1be24663db27293.jpg Disk Bench Pro https://forums.macrumors.com/data/attachments/1107/1107173-26c78fc4d92f30c1cb83778a7598143b.jpg The problem is that 230 pictures which are visible in Photos cannot be backed…
