8 iPhone 3D Touch Tricks That Are Actually Useful
by Guest Paul Horowitz- 0 replies
Many iPhone users with a 3D Touch display use the feature sporadically, if at all, often because it’s a bit of a guessing game as to what actions are available with the activation of the push and pop abilities. While 3D Touch may seem a bit gimmicky at times, there are some legitimately useful cases ... 8 Plus sound & video issues
by Guest Groundhog66- 0 replies

I have an iPhone 8 Plus that was updated to iOS 16.4.1 recently. The update did not cause the issue, as it was already acting up. I cannot get any videos to play, whether it be Netflix, YouTube, etc. Nor can I get any volume out of the phone, won't ring or sound any tones. When I open the Settings menu, the volume slider does not move smoothly, any idea how to fix this? Oh, on another note, if I use AirPods via Bluetooth, everything works normally. I have tried to do a factory reset, did... Read more Continue reading...

8-core or 12-core CPU?
by Guest Coyote2006- 0 replies

I am doing mainly programming and webdesign work. Also some grafic stuff and photoshop. I am dealing with mainy smaller files all day long. I know the MacPro would be an overkill but I want to keep all my drives in the case and I want a Mac that also lasts for another 8-10 years as my 5,1 did. I do also want to have the flexibility to upgrade the machine from time to time and I do not want an all in one solution nor a Laptop (I do already have one and I use it as a backup working machine)... 8+ Microphone not working on calls
by Guest scorpio333- 0 replies
I know, I know, it's old...but it does everything I need it to. The back glass is shattered. The proximity sensor no longer works (phone doesn't dim the screen during calls). None of those really bother me. One big exception, the microphone is NOT working during calls. Speakerphone does work during calls. Voice memos work. Videos work, front and back. Decibel meter apps work. Steps I've already tried and did not help. I've disabled all apps in Privacy/Microphone. I've rebooted. Disabled... Read more Continue reading...

80% Battery Health and AppleCare+?
by Guest davidg4781- 0 replies

I just noticed my battery hit 80%. My AppleCare+ expires on 1/16/22. And I don't have another day off until 1/14/22. What are the chances of Apple taking care of this next week? I live a couple of hours from an Apple store so I don't want to make the drive and be turned away because it's not BELOW 80%. I just hate to miss out on the battery replacement so close to the end. 80% charging limit
by Guest Square-Eyes- 0 replies

Has anyone had the problem that the iPhone does not charge beyond 80% even when the limit is not set? I generally have the 80% limit on, but yesterday I wanted to use the phone longer so I turned the limit off but it wouldn’t continue charging, very annoying. Tried switching limit on/off, restarted the phone etc but it didn’t work. It’s an iPhone 15 Pro, iOS on 17.5.1 (just noticed this is not up to date, I’ll do that now). Continue reading...

8k Displays Running on Mac Pro? Any? What Video cards would work that support 8k HDMI 2.1/Displayport 1.4/2.0 displays on Mac Pro?
by Guest ZombiePhysicist- 0 replies

So after following this thread, I'm thinking of finally replacing my 6 30" Cinema Displays with one or 2 8k displays. They have finally gotten cheap enough that it's worth a try. The question is, what graphics cards support 8k displays on the Mac Pro (mine is a 7,1 and currently has a 9100WX with 6 display ports that I dont think will do the job)? The new AMD Radeon 6xxx series supports HDMI 2.1 (which supports 8k) on their native cards but apple's version seem to be only HDMI... Read more Continue reading...

9,99$ per month for Backup??
by Guest /u/Waste-Explanation-76- 0 replies

So I got a new phone (16 Pro Max) and want to transfer my whole 14 Pro Max to the new one including photos, apps, data, settings…so the entire phone. With Samsung you just put them next to each other and then it’s transferring. On iPhone, first they asked me about QuickStart with iCloud, but I clicked „transfer from other iPhone“ but nothing happened it in put me back to select the language. So I’m forced to use iCloud?? So I clicked „transfer with iCloud“ but I haven’t done a backup in 2 years so there was nothing there. I then started the iCloud backup on my old phone overnight. When I woke up it was 50% there and said „9 hours left“ I was relieved cause I read so…
