Accessing “Expert Mode” Screen Color Calibrator in OS X El Capitan
by Guest Paul Horowitz- 0 replies

Mac users are likely familiar with the process of using display calibration to get the best color and picture quality for a specific monitor or screen used with a computer, and to get the most out of the calibrator tool you’ll want to run the utility in Expert Mode. While Expert Mode used to be ... Accessing the hidden MP3,1 BIOS setup utility?
by Guest lnx64- 0 replies
Having not touched a retail model Mac Pro 3,1 in a while, I almost forgot about the hidden BIOS setup utility that is actually in the ROM still. On the last BIOS revision released, it's at 056E7324-A718-465B-9A84-228F06642B4F, in the PE32 image. If you use a utility to convert this binary image to a readable IFR, this is what you will see: As you can imagine, this is a gold mine, there IS IFR contents for the BIOS setup utility. However, I'm not 100% if the ROM was... Read more Source: MacRumors

Accidentally added photo library to backup
by Guest Rob9874- 0 replies
My new iPhone 14 PM delivers today. So to prepare, I did one final backup. Took 10 min. Good to go. But in my settings, I noticed a prompt to prepare for my new phone, including enabling apps that are not included in my backup. So I turned them all on, including Photo Library. Shouldn't have done that. So it starts another backup, adding the apps I just enabled to be included. I noticed my backup time estimate growing and growing. It got to 1 hour, and I noticed the backup size was... Read more Continue reading...

Accidently bought BCM94360CSAX
by Guest darthgeekonius- 0 replies

I accidentally bought BCM94360CSAX thinking it was BCM94331CD only to realize when I went to install it in my 4.1 that it was too small. Is there an adapter I can buy or should I just start over? I'm trying to get the best card my Mac can handle. I have successfully gotten Catalina to install and work with my old card BCM94322MC. However, I want to hopefully increase the range and speed of the wifi adapter. What do I need to buy specifically to accomplish this? Thanks Source: MacRumors

Action button / Short cuts
by Guest qvintus53- 0 replies
I have set the action button to use shortcuts to turn on/off flight mode. But when I use the action button to do so, my Apple Watch does not change in or out off flight mode, only the phone. Same if I set the action button on the Watch to change to flight mode. But if I use the control center to set flight mode, my Watch mirror the setting. Any ideas on how get the Watch to mirror the flight mode when using the action button? Continue reading...

Adaptive ringtone volume?
by Guest CyberGene- 0 replies

I recently started using a mechanical watch instead of my Apple Watch. Seems I’m too used to getting incoming call notifications on my watch while the iPhone is in silent mode, so I started missing incoming calls and had to enable the ringer and here comes the problem. While at the office desk, my colleagues are annoyed by loud ringing. However in the kitchen or outside it’s too noisy and I need loud ringing. It would be great if the iPhone could adapt the ringer volume according to the... Read more Continue reading...
