I’m getting RCS Business Messages from FedEx, but they are not appearing on my iPad. They only show on my iPhone. Any regular SMS and iMessage messages do show on the iPad, just not RCS Business Messages. Is this a bug? submitted by /u/Deshes011 [link] [comments]

Is macOS Sequoai that bad for MP 7,1?
by Guest rylim- 0 replies

My MP7,1 turns sluggish and unresponsive after updating to macOS 15, and it has turned even worse after I updated to version 15.2 a few days ago, where the Mac no longer detects any Thunderbolt ports or PICE card I installed previously. The only way for me to solve it is to reset SMC every restart and pray it won't crash. I would like to hear from any MP7,1 user with macOS 15 if you encounter the same issues. I have done an Apple diagnostic on it, but no problem was found. https://forums.macrumors.com/data/attachments/1355/1355360-ff03078464c616a98e5bbcaeb7c79d1a.jpg... Read more Source: MacRumors

The answer is simple: your Mac has a GPU that uses shared memory. This means that your graphics card borrows some of the systems memory and uses it exclusively for graphics processing, this kind of GPU w…

How to Page Up & Page Down on Mac Keyboards
by Guest Paul Horowitz- 0 replies

Many Mac users arriving from the land of Windows PC keyboards will notice that the Apple keyboards as well as those included on a MacBook, MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro do not have the standard “Page Up” and “Page Down” keys. This does not mean you can’t page up and page down on a Mac, ... How to Get Transit Directions in Maps on iPhone

How to connect Apple Mini DisplayPort Cinema Display to Thunderbolt port on Mac Pro 2013?

I have an old Apple LED Cinema Display that has a Mini DisplayPort cable to connect to a Mac. I am in mid of getting a great deal on an used Apple Mac Pro 2013 (trashcan model) which has Thunderbolt 2 ports. Can you simply plug the Mini DisplayPort cable from my Cinema Display directly to the Thunderbolt 2 port on the Mac Pro 2013 without an adapter? Will you get both video (including iSight) and audio? Will this work for a dual display setup using TWO Cinema Display with Mini DisplayPort... Read more Source: MacRumors

Ram placement in slot 1 and 3 - will this work OK?
by Guest bmoore262- 0 replies
I've had an issue with my fans running at max. By swapping my ram (4x2gb) I found if I omitted slot 2 , the fans run at normal speed. So atm I have 6 gb of ram which is not enough. All of my 2gb dimms seem to be OK. But anything in slot 2 is a no go. ( with all 4 dimms installed it show 8gb total but fans run at max.) My plan is to purchase 2x 16gb ram dimms and install in slot 1 and 3. Will this work OK? I have a MP5,1 single quad core upgraded to a single hex core. ( mid 2012 ). Source: MacRumors

iPhone 12 Camera/Video Vibrates No Focus
by Guest Average Pro- 0 replies
My iPhone 12 (Pro) camera vibrates non-stop. I can hear and feel the vibration. I've isolated the problem to the 1x lens only. If I switch to the 0.5x or 2x lens, the vibration stops. In addition, the options for Video and Slo-Mo randomly disappear and the RAW has a line running through it (as in RAW is turned off). I ran a systems check/diagnostic with Apple tech support (via phone) and they did not identify any problems. First time experiencing anything like this. Tech support did not... After upgraded BT 4.0, unlocking iPhone wakes Mac?
by Guest Minimum91- 0 replies

I am running a MP5,1 with upgraded everything, 64GB RAM, 2TB NVMe SSD, 12-core 3,46GHz Xeon. It's running latest macOS Mojave with OpenCore 0.7.9. Recently I upgraded the Wi-Fi Bluetooth card to 4.0 for Airdrop and Continuity features I really need for work right now and subsequently I've started seeing a strange issue where the machine often wakes from sleep when I unlock my iPhone 13 mini! At first I though it was either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi causing this and so via software called... Read more Source: MacRumors

Mac Pro 5,1 w/ OpenCore 7.4 and Monterey: RX 580 no DP
by Guest rocksarntpeople- 0 replies

So last night I took the plunge and upgraded from Catalina to Monterey on my 5,1. All went fairly smooth except I seem to have lost the ability to use both display port outputs on my Radeon RX 580 Pulse. Worked fine up until now, does anyone know what could cause this? I am currently using OC 7.4 and the basic HW acceleration configuration provided here which has done everything I need up until now. For reference, the HDMI outputs work fine, however my monitor only supports 30 HZ over HDMI... Read more Source: MacRumors

Is wifi used when cellular data is turned on?
by Guest macstatic- 0 replies

If I have both cellular data and wifi turned on, will the phone choose wifi, or continue using cellular (since it was already on before I turned on wifi)? Whenever I connect to wifi I try to remember to also turn off cellular data, but perhaps I don't need to do this? (I try to save on cellular data usage whenever I can, especially with large videos, downloading new apps etc.) I'm on iOS 15.7. Continue reading...

Mac Pro 7,1 reboots when time machine is opened
by Guest cobra521- 0 replies

Every time I try to use Time Machine to back up to a Synology NAS, the 2019 Mac Pro 7,1 reboots. Instantly. I have two of them connected. The other one seems to work correctly. The first one did too until about two weeks ago. Now any time I try to access the NAS, even just using Finder, instant reboot! Any ideas about chasing this bug? by Guest Kentrent- 0 replies

Hello MacRumors family! Since Apple is cancelling the Extreme for the Mac Pro 8,1... and we know the next Mac Pro will have some sort of expandability, but nobody knows what form that will come in. Memory and graphic options will be vastly lower than the current Intel based Mac Pro 7,1. Thus, in my opinion, it is more like a replacement for the Mac Pro 6,1 rather than a replacement for the 7,1. With that said, I think the Mac Pro 7,1 will be still in demand despite the new Mac Pro 8,1... Read more Source: MacRumors
