Will apple intelligence be available for older devices?
by Guest /u/casklaver- 0 replies

I contacted apple support to ask this question and they couldn’t say yes or no. I feel like it’s a marketing trick and it will be available for more devices. What do you guys think? submitted by /u/casklaver [link] [comments]

Dear friends, after roughly one year of using my 13 Pro Max naked with only a screen protector, a weird fall managed to damage my screen. It fell almost vertical on the bottom right corner and the screen slightly chipped there and propagated energy into an oblique hairline crack to the opposite upper left corner. Phone works but cannot put a protective glass on it anymore without it forming a "bubble" over the crack. I have Applecare+ active, but reading it I fear Apple could regard the... Will HFS+ Formatted Time Machine backup APFS SSD's?
by Guest quadra605- 0 replies

Sorry if this seems an obvious question, but I have an 8TB HDD Time Machine formatted to HFS+ and am now adding two internal NVMe SSD's in my MacPro 5,1 that will store video & audio material. Should the SSD's be formatted as APFS and if so, will my HFS+ Time Machine have any difficulty accessing/backing up those SSD's? Source: MacRumors

Will I be able to get sound out of my monitor with my new GPU
by Guest Sossity- 0 replies

I read the paper material that came with my new GPU, the AMD radeon RX 460, and it said that I would need OS 10.14 to be able to have native sound from my monitor. This has me a little concerned as I use Adobe CS6 and as of now, it looks like it is best I stay with 10.13, the last modern OS to be stable with CS6, which is what I will do to be sure my CS6 works. But will I be able to have sound out of my monitor? will I have to have separate speakers? Source: MacRumors

Will I lose Apple intelligence once I go back to Germany?
by Guest /u/SpaceDudeee- 0 replies
Hey so I live in Germany and have my Apple ID set up with Germany as the country. Back there on Apple intelligence it said “not available in your country”. So I came to Peru to visit my family for the holidays and to my surprise Apple intelligence started downloading on all my devices. I thought they had Apple intelligence setup depending of the country your Apple ID is from, not where you’re physically in. Anyways do you guys think once I go back everything Apple intelligence will be gone? I mean technically it’s already downloaded to my devices right? submitted by /u/SpaceDudeee [link] [comments]

Like the headline says, if I swap the pair of X5675’s (3.06 GHz) in my Mac Pro with a matched pair of X5690s (3.46 GHz), will I notice a difference? It's a 12-core 2010 5,1 (2 x 3.06 GHz) with 96GB RAM and an RX580 8GB running Mojave on an SM961 NVMe drive and Windows 10 on an 850 EVO SSD. I mostly use it for vocal audio production (radio/podcasts), web production, photo editing (bridge/lightroom/photoshop), and managing my music library (iTunes/Plex). Not a whole lot of sequential... Will MacBook Air M2 Handle Full-Stack Development?
by Guest /u/Forsaken_Coconut_685- 0 replies
- 12 views
I'm planning to buy a MacBook Air M2 with 16GB of RAM and would appreciate your recommendation on whether this laptop is suitable for my needs. I primarily work on full-stack web development using React and Node. My typical workflow involves running multiple applications simultaneously, including VSCode, YouTube, Raycast, Docker, and JetBrains IDE. I'm concerned that these resource-intensive applications might cause the laptop to heat up and throttle. Given my budget constraints, this is the best laptop I can afford. submitted by /u/Forsaken_Coconut_685 [link] [comments]

Will MPX modules become unavailable.....
by Guest dominicperry- 0 replies
When Apple finally announce the new MP 8,1 I'm assuming the 7,1 will become instantly unavailable. And with it, all the MPX card upgrades? I need to decide whether to pre-emptively buy a new MPX GPU as there aren't many coming up used for sale. What's Apple's history with this, do they normally remove all upgrade components from sale at the same time as removing the main item, or is there no reliable precedent? Source: MacRumors

Will OCLP ever support the 6,1?
by Guest BubbaMc- 0 replies

Interested in using OCLP in the near future to enable Airplay to Mac (and other locked out functionality, maybe Ventura or a later OS in the future). Are there plans for OCLP to be officially supported on the 6,1? Does anyone have it currently working, and are you happy with it? Any big known issues with the 6,1? Source: MacRumors

Will signing out of messages temporarily give me MacBook storage?
by Guest /u/No-Cockroach-1079- 0 replies
I have a MacBook Air with only 4GB of storage left, and my Messages app is taking up 30GB. I need around 26GB of free space to perform a software update. If I sign out of Messages, will that free up the 30GB? Also, when I log back in, will all my messages, pictures, and videos be restored? Thanks in advance for any advice! submitted by /u/No-Cockroach-1079 [link] [comments]

Will siri remember conversations with apple intelligence ?
by Guest /u/Material_Struggle614- 0 replies
- 9 views
I am using chatgpt currently to have vocal conversations through the chatgpt app. It remembers the context over previous conversations we've had, so days or weeks later I can still talk about it with chatgpt. Will Siri have the same memory with apple intelligence, or will it only have single conversation awareness with no history of past conversations? submitted by /u/Material_Struggle614 [link] [comments]
