Change the Mail Swipe Left Gesture in OS X to Archive or Delete
by Guest Paul Horowitz- 0 replies
The Mac Mail app has added inbox swiping gestures to OS X that allow you to quickly delete or archive an email message with a simple left swipe. While this helps to sort through tons of emails rather quickly, it can also lead to some unintentional removal of emails that you may want to keep, ... Use an Animated GIF as Wallpaper in Mac OS X with GIFPaper
by Guest Paul Horowitz- 0 replies

Have you ever wished the wallpaper on your Mac was animated? One common trick to achieve that effect is to set a screen saver as the desktop wallpaper in Mac OS X, which looks great but can wind up using a fair amount of processor to display the animations, but now another option is available; ... Trying to get the biggest speed/processing power upgrade for least $ for my Mac Pro 3,1 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Cores
by Guest LeeZee1- 0 replies
Hi Mac Pro experts, I'm looking to substantially increase the speed/processing power of my Mac Pro (early 2008) 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Cores. I've read that it's possible to switch out the two processors with 3.8 GHz Quad-Cores (or 2 hex-cores) and max out the RAM at 32 GB. However, I read that these types of upgrades to the mac pro 3,1 translate into a proportionally smaller increase in performance for the price compared to just getting a Mac Pro 2009 or 2010 or 2013 or 2015 and making upgrades... New 5,1 - 2012 Nehalem with an empty 1tb hard drive
by Guest Caligator- 0 replies

I just bought a Mac Pro Tower 5,1 - 2012 Nedlahem with an empty 1tb hard drive. I currently have a USB with High Sierra install on it and it tells me I cannot install without a firmware update. I also have an early 2008 Mac Pro tower flashed to run el cap. Can I just pull the OS drive out of the 2008 with el cap and put in the 2012 5,1 and upgrade? Or can I buy a preinstalled High Sierra 3.5 HD and boot off that? Source: MacRumors

calls during VoLTE... secondary SIM signal goes dark
by Guest nanankcornering- 0 replies

Hi! I currently use iPhone 13 Pro (hongkong model, so it's a nano+nano SIM model, not nano+esim model), and noticed that during calls (over VoLTE), the remaining SIM, would lost it's signal and connectivity. Does anyone of you who use the same model experience this? or maybe those who use the nano+esim model, do you experience this too? is this a hardware/modem issue? or it's an "expected" feature? Mac Pro 3,1 running 10.14.5 Mojave via Dosdude1 patcher, an OEM Nvidia GeForce 8800 running fine (thank you guys). A newly-acquired flashed Club GeForce GTX 680 4GB is showing correct boot screen but no image after boot, either DP or DVI. Should I just reinstall, this time with OCLP, or am I missing something simple here? Source: MacRumors

Sync MacBook <-> iPhone without backups
by Guest Faloude- 0 replies

So I've been trying to use my iPhone without iCloud and it hasn't been comfortable I can say. I sync all my data (contacts, calendar) over wifi or cable. Everytime I hit that Sync button, it starts with backup up my whole iPhone which I find very annoying. I have to cancel it each time (read: press the cancel button about 20 times before it responds). Do you have a tip to make my life easier? (iCloud is out of the question) Continue reading...

As been discussed beforehand, I’ve purchased a device thru Wally World via straight talk or total wireless it seems but I asked for straight talk, and it cannot be activated. I cannot return it bc someone scratched the straight talk sku off the back of the phone and it left damage to the Apple sku as well. I waited before returning it just bc it says 2 sims available and I have a different SIM card that popped up that end in a diff number. One is 62 one is 70. Someone who is a friend of... hi everyone! Has anyone installed big sur, monterey or ventura on a mac pro 5.1 (mid 2010) with the graphics card it came with from the factory? It turns out that when I try to install on mine I have followed all the instructions provided on the OCLP site and using version 0.6.1 I have had the following results: when i try big sur, after it finishes the install and does its final reboot before logging in for the first time it freezes at the start of the load When I try with Monterey, the... Mac Pro 5,1 Struggling To Complete OCLP OS Big Sur Install
by Guest Rozu4871- 0 replies

I've attempted to complete the install several times. It does boot into it but also is very glitchy. I'm wondering if a new "Modern" SATA Drive may be easier. Anyways I got this error message one of the times it booted into the OS. Other times It just gives me the Applet logo with 29 minutes remaining then freezes. I've left it on all night and no change. Mac Pro stalls on startup
by Guest Royal Raider- 0 replies

Hi everyone. Turned on my Mac this morning but didn't make it to the Apple logo (power light stays on). I tried to boot into Safe / Recovery but no luck. I tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds but it shuts down after about 6 seconds of pressing the button (I turned the chime off a while ago so can't comment on that). Then I left it on for a while and looked on the house network to see if it was present but nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated! Source: MacRumors

MP5.1 with Legacy + Polaris GPU
by Guest Leborgne23- 0 replies
Hi, A customer of mine used to work with OSX 10.7 on his MP5.1 but now needs macOS 12 on top of that. His GPU is the ATI Radeon HD 5770 that came with it back in 2010. I used OC legacy patcher to install macOS 12 and add support for his non-metal GPU but some programs like Logic Pro X do require a true Metal compatible GPU (glitches or missing GUI elements without one). I made him buy a Polaris GPU (RX560) to be able to work around that but now here is what I'm stuck with : 1 - although... Read more Source: MacRumors
