by Guest chrissomos- 0 replies

Hello folks. I am having an issue with networking speeds involving a CMP 5,1 and I’m hoping someone can help. I am sharing a nvme network drive on my CMP as well as some other volumes. When sharing the nvme drive I am expecting 800-1000 MB/s (similar to others on this forum with a fast NAS) but I am getting an average of ~350 MB/s. The drive is capable of 3500 write ans 4500 read. I am testing transmission in both directions using a MacBook Pro, blackmagic disk speed test, and copying a 10GB... Read more Source: MacRumors

by Guest Auggie- 0 replies

I want to connect my 2019 Mac Pro 7,1 located in my home office, to a pair of NAS servers, also with built-in 10GB RJ45 ports, located in another room, so I need three 10GB switches; two of which only need at most three 10GB ports, while the "central" switch (located in my structured media enclosure in the master bedroom closet) being the one needing at least four 10GB ports, which will be the most expensive switch in my proposed network topology. For the two switches requiring the least... Read more Source: MacRumors

Does anyone know of a source for the 10 pin SATA power cable that comes with the Pegasus J2i and Sonnet J3i drive enclosures? I have a Sonnet J3i with a U.2 drive in it, powered by one of the 2 SATA power cables coming from the 10pin connector. I have a second 20TB SATA spinner plugged into one of the internal sata ports. And, lastly, I have a 2TB 2.5" sata SSD that is plugged into a SATA to USB cable (plugged into the internal USB port on the 7,1 Mac Pro). The... Read more Source: MacRumors

12- core cpu upgrade fail
by Guest acurtis- 0 replies

Hi all. been searching the threads for a little help here. I have a Mac Pro 6,1 Late 2013, Trashcan, It was running Catalina with 6-core CPU, 1tb SSD from owc, 128gb of memory and the dual AMD Firepro d700s. I thought i would give it a little more beef with purchasing the 12-core cpu off OWC. Install went smoothly but I turned on the computer and the fan was going full blast, huge kernel task load using up all of the CPU and it was very sluggish. I didn't reset my PRAM stupidly, and... 13 (Pro) Possible Manufacturing Flaw: A (long) tale of the lightning port and intermittent charging and data transfers
by Guest vertsix- 0 replies

I got my 13 Pro a two months ago and all was good. It's a great phone and had been loving it, at first. However, I started encountering issues with charging with the lightning port on my 13 Pro, where charging would immediately stop and restart (often in less than a second). I discovered several reddit threads with people explaining the same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/q53c43 https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/q6bhh6 https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/rant9h And I thought, "okay, whatever, maybe this could... 13 Pro Max - 5GHz hotspot not working
by Guest Leyf- 0 replies

Hello, I bought my first Apple device a few weeks ago (13 Pro Max) and treated myself with an unlimited 5G data plan. The problem I'm encountering right now is that the 5GHz hotspot doesn't work. Sometimes it shows up on my Windows PC, sometimes it doesn't. When it does, it simply says "no internet" and disconnects after a few seconds. Same thing on other devices, like my old S20+. I'm running iOS 15.6. Thanks for your help! Continue reading...

Both my (non Apple) bt in-ear headphones and my car bt do frequent short disconnects from my new iPhone 13 Pro Max.
