Hi, I'm new to iOS and I have the problem, that I want to use my steel series arctic nova pro wireless Headphones with my latest iPad pro with the USB station in 2.4 GHz mode, but I can't select it from the list of devices. It shows up with the correct name but if I select it, a loading icon appears for a couple of seconds and nothing happens afterwards. Has someone an idea what I can try? submitted by /u/Hungry_Meal_4580 [link] [comments]

20 years of windows, switched to Mac today

I have been using windows computers for 20 years and decided today to get a MacBook Pro M1 Pro 16 inch. My experience has been incredible. How quick it is, seamless, smooth, I can’t believe I haven’t had one of these all my life. My phone works amazingly on it too (I have an iPhone and an iPad). I used to think so poorly of MacBooks but I completely understand why people have them now. This thing is a productivity monster. Loving it and can see myself buying more Mac’s long into the future. submitted by /u/ItzMichaelHD [link] [comments]

by Guest stubynyc- 0 replies

I'm a noob and have Monterey working great on my Mac Pro 2008 3,1 with Opencore. When I run Windows 10 via Parallels 17 it is pretty slow and it looks like my VT-X is not running. I found this post on how to enable VT-X with rEFIt. https://forum.parallels.com/styles/subway/xenforo/avatars/avatar_m.png How To Enable VT (aka VTX or VT-x) with rEFIt and vmx-var-set.efi I've seen a bunch of instructions here for doing this; but all of them seemed to leave out one or two crucial details. So I'll try to provide those who... https://forum.parallels.com/threads/how-to-enable-vt-aka-vtx-or-vt-x-with-refit-and-vmx-var-set-efi.3273/ forum.parallels.com Is there a way…

2008 Mac Pro crashing/Fan issue
by Guest Gothboy1- 0 replies
I thought it was an HD issue. It would boot up, then 5 minutes later the fan would start getting loud like it was working really hard and in the midst of that would crash leaving the on/off light flashing until I turned the Mac off. I removed the boot HD thinking it was mechanical failure and booted off the cloned backup drive but it did the same thing so I’m a little perplexed as to what’s going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated 2008 Mac Pro running 10.11.6 4 HDs Intel 16 GB RAM Source: MacRumors

2009 5,1 Mac Pro Intermittent Flashing Power Light & No Start Problem
by Guest MacInquiry- 0 replies

I recently got an amazing deal on a 2009 MacPro flashed to 5,1 firmware from a professional music producer who upgraded to a more modern Mac and just wanted to sell his older one fast. The body of this MacPro is literally in near mint condition and even the inside of it only had a moderate to minimal amount of dust and it even came with the original Mac Pro box--this guy knew how to take care of his gear to say the least! I tested all the ports on it were working ok, ran Geekbench 5 test to... Read more Source: MacRumors

2009 Mac Pro > 2015 MacBook Pro Connection
by Guest paul_bace- 0 replies

Is there such a connection? I want to target disk mode my new 2015 MacBook Pro (GOAT) so I can work on the monster mac I built. Is the only way now a titan ridge in the Mac Pro and display port cable? I was using FireWire 800 with my 2012 and it was great for transferring and working on stuff I imported to the MacBook, and then archiving later. Sorry if this has been asked before! Been searching everywhere and can't seem to find anything that speaks to this issue... Source: MacRumors

2009 Mac Pro 5,1 CPU and RAM not recognized.
by Guest JayAreKicks- 0 replies

I recently had taken the machine apart to clean it but ever since I've put it back together and booted it up, i noticed things were slightly slower and it wasn't until now that i realized one of the CPUs and half the RAM isn't even being recognized. There should be 2 processors, 12 cores, 64gb RAM. All of it was working before cleaning it. Another issue I've been having since it put it back together is that any small bump into the machine immediately powers it off. I had to put foam under... Read more Source: MacRumors

2009 Mac Pro no chime
by Guest Skbusta- 0 replies

I have a 2009 Mac Pro I have been upgrading for video editing. I’ve replaced the dual CPU’s, graphics card etc. Everything was working fine until it decided not to boot up. Power light is on but no boot chime. I suspect the motherboard because heat sinks are not heating. There is a red led that flashes briefly. I took a picture of the led that flashes. Anyone have any suggestions. I’m not a computer expert so any suggestions would be appreciated. Source: MacRumors

I’ve been having issues with my 2009 Mac Pro. Where it will shut off randomly, turn back on, shut off, repeat.. I have a 2009 Mac Pro flashed to 5,1 with dual 3.43ghz processors (12 core) 32gb of ram, the original nvidia 512 GPU in slot 3 and an AMD RX580 in slot 1. Troubleshooting methods I’ve tried: -The hardware elimination test. Everything checked out okay.. -Repasting and replacing heat sink supports over northbridge diode. It doesn’t seem like an overheating issue. MacFans has... Read more Source: MacRumors

2010 5,1 cMP & Apple Keyboards
by Guest paulcons- 0 replies

Due to 980 nVidia card, running 13.6 High Sierra and the GPU is flashed for an apple boot picker. Worked perfectly for almost 5 years now. Long story, spilled some coffee on the keyboard, but I worked it over to where I verified all keys work in macOS. EXCEPT, on boot, neither option key brings me to the picker while I can verify they work in macOS. I HAD ordered a replacement A1243, but they no longer make wired so it's a BT one, most likely a different model number. Now I'm thinking will... Read more Source: MacRumors

2010 5,1 Mac Pro, Monterey, OpenCore Legacy Patcher, OSXWifi bluetooth wifi upgrade
by Guest kherman- 0 replies

Currently running Monterey 12.3.1 on a 2010 5,1 Mac Pro desktop. Installed it using OpenCore Legacy Patcher v0.4.4 . I did the post-install root patching as the patcher showed I needed Networking - Legacy Wireless. Both the original Apple bluetooth and Wifi card are working flawlessly. My question is if I wanted to upgrade both cards to get Airdrop/Handoff etc., can this be done by simply reverting the root patches in the OpenCore Legacy Patcher app then install the upgraded wifi/bluetooth... I have a 2010 cMP Westmare 2.4Ghz eight core Mac Pro, and am looking for advice about how to configure the drives and TimeMachine backup. 2010 cMP OCLP Ventura boot stalls
by Guest Php4u- 0 replies

I have my 2010 cMP running well with separate disks for Windows 11 (kids gaming) and Monterey as the primary boot disk with OCLP 06.7 with an RX 5600 XT GPU. However, when I try to upgrade to Ventura, the installer seems to work, but when it comes to the 1st boot the process seems to stall on the Apple logo and the progress bar sticks at about 40%. I did do the PRAM reset with 3 chimes and tried to install with a separate USB installer, all with no success. If you have experienced this, how... Read more Source: MacRumors

I have a 2010 cMP Westmare eightcore 2.4GHZ that runs OSX El Capitan. The Mac Pro is almost exclusively used to run Aperture 3.6 and perform photo editing (and storage). 1. Which OS post El Capitan can be used on my cMP in original condition (without modifying the graphic card and other hardware)? 2. Which OS is a best compromise for both the 2010 cMP 2.4GHZ and Aperture 3.6? I am grateful for any advice! Source: MacRumors

2010 Mac pro GPU question
by Guest Gnx231- 0 replies

I have a 2010 mac pro dual 3.46 running oclp. I currently have a rx580 gpu. I use this for davinci heavily and want to upgrade the gpu. Now I was going to go with a second rx 580 but was told to just use 1 radeon vii. So my question is should I get a radeon vii or a 6800 instead? Looks ;like the 6800 would be way faster but I have no way of flashing it. I also don't know any real world test using a 6800 with davinci on a mac pro. Source: MacRumors

2010 Mac Pro Memory Speed Mismatch?
by Guest m1maverick- 0 replies

I have a 2010 Mac Pro 2 x 3.46GH 6-core processors which had 4 x 8GB (32GB total) 1066MHz memory. I decided to bump it up to 64GB and purchased 4 x 8GB (32GB total) 1333Mhz memory. When I installed the new memory the system does not boot and has a flashing power light (I didn't observe the flash pattern). To troubleshoot I began swapping memory around in. In the end the system boots with either set (1066MHz or 1333MHz) in either bank 1 (slots 1, 2, 3, and 4) or bank 2 (slots 5, 6, 7, and 8)... Read more Source: MacRumors
