windows 10 Windows Wireless LAN 802.11 Extensibility Framework
by Guest Jun Junior- 0 replies

I am unsure if I have a virus since I ran a scan through VirusTotal and one of the tags came back as #malware. I ran it again in Filescan.io and it came up as likely malicious. The file is located in the normal C:\Windows\System32 folder. In properties it has all of the normal copyright signatures and such. Does not look suspicious, but I'd like to make sure it's fine. Here's the file scan. The thing is I have not downloaded any suspicious files/apps, nor have I gone to any weird sites, so I don't understand if it's a false positive or a trojan that somehow got into my system from my thumb dri Continue reading...

by Guest kevin boyd2- 0 replies

So I was trying to swap hard drives on my laptop, it has a 256GB drive in it now, and I'm trying to upgrade to a 1TB from another laptop, so I used a 2TB external drive to do the swap with, but in the middle of doing this the internal reader quit, and it won't read properly if going through an external reader for a bootable drive, how can I fix this? If I could get the laptop to boot properly I could probably finish transferring Continue reading...

windows 10 sign in process initialisation failure after trying to update to windows 11???
by Guest z.oUH- 0 replies

hi, I need some help. I tried updating my hp pavilion from windows 10 to windows 11. My computer restarted itself to apply the update and now won’t load in at all. turns on, shows the hp logo, black screen and then shows the sign in process initialisation failure popup. if I exit the popup it just goes to a completely black screen. I have tried most of the suggested fixes on here. the system can’t diagnose itself with anything and I can’t reset either because that fails for some reason too. I’ve tried certain commands and pretty much everything from the troubleshooting menu. It won’t boot up Continue reading...

windows 10 Problems with Windows and controller keybinds.
by Guest zedorda- 0 replies

I am about to address an old problem that has little to no attention given to it. (Microsoft not seeing the value in good controller functionality.) But with their recent interest in gaming and ownership of the market. They maybe willing to devote some interest in this area. There are 2 factors that can make for a good videogame. 1. Good gameplay. 2. Good user control. Microsoft can not make all games be developed with good gameplay. Since this is very game design oriented. But they can make user control better. A game rarely needs both to be successful but one can carry the other.Currently the Continue reading...

windows 10 Accidentally Cleared M.2 SSD
by Guest s h a w n- 0 replies

I'm a huge idiot.First off, I have a PC with two M.2 SSDs—a 1TB and a 4TB. When building my PC a couple of years ago, I started with a 1TB SSD. Just recently, I wanted to upgrade it to a 4TB so that I can have more space for games. I was able to clone the 1TB SSD with the 4TB SSD by using diskgenius. It was successful, I managed to switch the slots so the 4TB was higher on my motherboard. Everything was fine. Today, I thought of a way to use my old 1TB SSD since I'm not even using it anymore, and I was trying to find a way to clear all of what was on it so that I can use all of it's storage fo Continue reading...

Before you suggest it, NO, Windows Troubleshooter does NOT solve this problem, I have already tried. At some point, Microsoft removed the "Let Windows manage default communication device" setting from Windows 10 systems. This setting was extremely useful and I was using it up until today. My computer had a hiccup, driver blip or stack overflow or something or other, and it suddenly stopped changing the communication playback device when I changed the main playback device with the menu shown in the picture below.Upon looking up potential fixes, Google informs me of this neat setting that should be Continue reading...

windows 10 Where did the program go that created videos from images or other videos and had other elements like audio.
by Guest Kyle elyk- 0 replies

Before an unelicited update occurred. I had a program to create a video with images and videos. after the update, I am not able to locate the program. I could right click an image and it would allow me to create a video with the image. Where did it go. Why did some rando at windows take something from the laptop I paid for? these unsolicited updates give me things I do not want and take things I do want. I bought a laptop because I wanted a specific laptop, the laptop isn't the laptop I bought anymore after all the unwanted updates. Continue reading...

windows 11 Printing from Win32 application - 22H2 AND 24H2 - revived old thread
by Guest Nate_Blaum- 0 replies

Since this thread is locked and can't be commented on any longer, I'm starting a new thread as I've run into an issue related to this. Printing from Win32 application - new after installing 22h2 update - Microsoft CommunityThe issue I've discovered is that, while the registry change referenced in that thread DOES WORK, for me it doesn't work unless the user is a local administrator on the workstation. I went to a workstation, and logged in as a local administrator and added the registry settings (although I did change the location to HKLM rather than HKCU) - even went so far as to check the pe Continue reading...

I have read issues around Windows 11 24H2 which cause disruption /conflicts with GPU (eg NVidia) and iGPU (eg Intel Graphics)I use both GPU's for Video and Photography processing for the Apps I have.My iGPU is Enabled in BIOS and should not be disabled which it seems can happen with Windows 11 24H2. This is a step into the dark ages. From evidence I see Windows 11 24H2 kills the iGPUHas anyone else found this and what is Microsoft doing to fix it? Continue reading...

windows 11 Abandoning One Drive -- How Do I Identify a File Solely Present on One Drive?
by Guest Curmudgeon10- 0 replies

After a year or so experience with One Drive, its time to say goodbye. I have no need for sharing, and I've always preferred to be in physical possession of my stuff, either on the PC or on some external drives. How do I insure as I go through the process of divorce, I don't lose any folders or files that exist solely on One Drive? Is this even a valid concern? Continue reading...
