I am going to get a Dell Precision 3660 and wondered if it is possible to add a front loading hot swap HDD caddy?? I already have one (but not hot swapable) on my Dell 7010 which won't run W11 properly whih I use for master backup disks of 4TB each. The front loading HDDs are really usefull and mean I can change them over in an instant - and also use by spare 1tb HDDs for off line storage of emails etc for my kids and theri unit projects. I like the 3660 as it has three m2 ssd slots as well as internal drive Sata bays which I intend to make use of as well.

Over the past year, we have continued to make incredible progress in artificial intelligence. Today, we are releasing the first model in the Gemini 2.0 family of models: an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Flash. It’s our workhorse model with low latency and enhanced performance at the cutting edge of our technology, at scale. We are also sharing the frontiers of our agentic research by showcasing prototypes enabled by Gemini 2.0’s native multimodal capabilities. Gemini 2.0 Flash Gemini 2.0 Flash builds on the success of 1.5 Flash, our most popular model yet for developers, with enhanced performance at similarly…

My laptop turns off by itself and the temp is very high also. I’ve attempted to close the programs that I do not need, but it has been to no avail. What kind of solutions are there to solve this problem?

LG has officially discontinued all its Blu-ray players, including the UBK80 and UBK90 UHD models, with remaining units only available while stocks last. This move mirrors similar decisions by Oppo in 2018 and Samsung in 2019, when both companies exited the optical disc player market entirely. LG’s decision to pull the plug on its Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray players is reflected on LG’s online channels and has been confirmed by multiple sources to FlatpanelsHD. However, in a statement to FlatpanelsHD, LG Korea stopped short of confirming a full global exit from the optical disc player market, leaving the possibility open for a return if demand resurface…

I'm considering purchasing access to a VPN so I can securely connect to a remote site. I've never used a VPN before and I'm unsure of the details. I have a Windows 10 PC which seems to come with a VPN client installed and all that is necessary seems to be to configure that client to use the purchased VPN service. However I'm not sure if setting this up would mean that all my traffic would use the VPN or only traffic to the remote site. How do I ensure the VPN is used for only traffic to my remote site and other traffic connects to the internet directly?

I have read some people are experiencing some issues when they upgrade from windows 10 to windows 11, so I’m scared. And I really want to upgrade. What are the risks or problems that are associated with it? Is there anything that would create a compatibility problem or a poor performing experience?

I love to play games on my computer because I'm a big fan of the RTS games. As we all know that such kind of game genre works smoothly on the PC. So I want to build a gaming PC but I don’t know how much to spend. Do you guys have any idea on the amount I would need to get this done?

I hope someone can help. The laptop in question belongs to my dear old Dad, who causes me sleepless nights with his technical issues. He has a five year old laptop, which is Windows 10. Last week, while I was trying to work from home, he rang and said his laptop wouldn't connect to the wifi. The router is merely a few feet away. I had to video call him, so I could see what he was doing on his PC. We managed to get on to the diagnostic tool, which picked up that a driver was missing, it then did the troubleshooter, restarted and the laptop connected to his wifi. All good, so I thought and I was very proud of my 80 year old for managing this. However, he has rung me toda…

When I finish what I am doing with my laptop, I always close the lid. When I need it again, I simply open the lid and it works. Today that changed for some reason. Now when I open the lid, no connections are available. I have to restart the laptop in order for my router to be found. It is an Acer Aspire E15. AMD A9-9410 dual core. 8GB ddr4 ram. 128gb ssd. 1tb hdd

Hi all, I need a new desktop PC, but haven't been in the loop for a while so have no idea what's what. I need a PC capable of running Photoshop and other photo editing software, a bit of video editing using OpenShot, and some light gaming. I was going to buy a PC a few months ago but lockdown came along and the prices shot up. Just looking for advice, and I'd prefer a ready made, or configurable system, as previously when I tried building my own I ran into compatibility issues. Thanks in advance.

I have been using CPUID HWmoniter to check what is going on. My pc is not overheating, im not using up all of my RAM or disk space while playing and my graphics card is up to date. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics cards, uninstalled and reinstalled steam as well as my game. plus I have also deleted all mods attached to the game and the vanilla game still crashes. So I have an Elgato capture device as well as a device called a Digitnow! Unfortunately both of these don't work with my Sega Genesis 100% and the Elgato doesn't work properly all since the Genesis outputs in a weird aspect ratio that the device can't properly encode. Plus, the Elgato Capture device works with my other old consoles somewhat, but I can't seem to get OBS to cooperate with the device since it will output video but no audio. The Digitnow!, only seems to record audio from one speaker and it changes depending on if I use my mono Genesis cables or my stereo ones. (I haven't tried it with other consoles.) Right now I can deal with using the Digitnow and just edit…

Pretty much as the heading above. I am so used to W7 that the lap-top with W10 has me stymied. What do I do to get them on the desk-top of the lap-top? If I download them they disappear. Jim.

Do you have an old Android tablet lying around just collecting dust? Are you a gamer who enjoys playing retro games but don't have the means or space to own all those old consoles you used to play growing up? Well why not reuse that tablet to be a emulation machine! I mentioned Android since emulators are much easier to find on Google Play. Most old consoles like the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis should be able to run on any tablet with no issues. You might start to run into issues with 3D consoles like the PS1, it depends on your tablet's specs. Though I'm curious, are there any other good uses for old tablets? I'd like to hear your ideas!

Save yourself from bugs and other issues and skip the unofficial version. An unfinished build of what is assumed to be Windows 11 leaked online, and people are installing it. Based on early impressions, it looks like Windows users are in for a big overhaul: Screenshots show off an all-new macOS-like desktop layout, a redesigned Windows Explorer interface, new Start menus, and some of the best built-in wallpapers Windows has ever had. Some folks are excited by the changes, others not so much, but it’s safe to say everyone’s at least curious about Microsoft’s still technically unannounced operating system (it’s assumed the upcoming Sun Valley Windows 10 update wil…

Dear friends I have a new computer! It is an HP slim desktop S01-aF0xxx running Windows 10 64-bit. We use it for the odd presentation or academics, and a bit of browsing, and emails, using Office 365. It has come with a free McAfee personal security thing but I'm not sure if I need an added anti-virus on top of what Windows already has. If I do need another thing on top, which would you recommend? I've used Eset and Avast in the past. Should I uninstall McAfee or just leave it to run out of its free trial period? or pay for it? Any help would, as ever, be gratefully received. I think this is now the 3rd desktop PC you've helped me manage, plus the (now adult) k…

Recently, when I was trying to edit some codes, I asked ChaGPT for the solutions and then ended up using the codes generated by ChatGPT. It worked but then I realized what if it had suggested me the wrong codes? Can we actually trust AI when it comes to doing stuff, especially something related to coding.

Russia reportedly severed certain regions of the country from the global internet for a day, effectively isolating them, according to reports from European and Russian media outlets that were echoed by the US nonprofit Institute for the Study of War (ISW) and other Western sources. Roskomnadzor, Russia’s communications authority, imposed the block on Dagestan, Chechnya, and Ingushetia—regions with predominantly Muslim populations—cutting off access to major foreign websites and apps like Google, YouTube, Telegram, and WhatsApp. Even the use of VPNs did not guarantee access in these areas, a local Russian news outlet reported. Roskomsvoboda, a Russian digital r…

Mozilla is removing the Do Not Track (DNT) setting from the Firefox browser. This change will take effect in version 135 and beyond, where the DNT setting will no longer be available. The change is already live and can be seen in the Nightly version. Do Not Track (DNT) is a browser setting that allows users to signal their preference not to be tracked by websites. When enabled, it sends a special HTTP header to websites indicating the user’s choice to opt out of tracking. According to Wikipedia, DNT was introduced in 2009 by researchers Christopher Soghoian and Sid Stamm, and Mozilla Firefox was the first browser to implement this feature. However, as…

Curious about what might happen if you try to delete Microsoft Edge from its file location? When you open the file location for Edge, it directs you to a folder containing a few subfolders and a mysterious 4MB file labeled MS Edge. Even if you manage to get the necessary admin privileges to delete these files, you might quickly find out that it doesn’t actually remove the browser. But just for fun, what if you went ahead and gave it a shot? Would deleting those files actually do anything, or would Edge simply reappear like nothing ever happened? Let’s find out! 🤔💥

Looking advice/suggestions on switching between two screens and 2 keyboards on one pc. We have one pc in the fab with a display screen/keyboard and then outside the fab we have a screen and keyboard. We did have a rotary switch kvm thing but its just stopped working. Simple plan would be to replace this but its older than me. Any other ideas or suggestions to switch between the 2 screens without a switching box, don't mind if both screens show the same thing and can be controlled from both sides

I recently spilt something on my laptop, which caused the keyboard and mousepad to stop working. Then I dropped it from about ten feet in the air (while it was switched off). Then it failed to switch on. Whenever I put the Hard Drive in a disk enclosure, it starts clicking and fails to show up in Windows Explorer, Device Manager, or Disk Management. What are the chances of my data being recovered with a data recovery specialist? Can you recommend any such specialists or identify any that need to be steered clear of? And are there any data recovery software programmes that I could use instead? Thanks in advance.

I have an old HP laptop. It works well but it is very slow. It takes a lot of time to boot. How do I improve its speed without making any hardware adjustments. Are there some settings that can improve my laptop's speed?
