I have an Intel Stream HP. This has no internal DVD player, so I bought an external one. I had to download VLC media player to be able to watch DVD's. But when it comes to burning DVD's, Microsoft does not recognise the disc! What can I do please?

Hello.. I've recently noticed that when trying to access YouTube, it will play for a second or two then I get the following message.........An error occurred. Please try again later. (Playback ID: wTtQ9Rakmvq5VPSO).. If you would, please let me know how to take care of this issue.. I am hoping that you will know what the "Playbeck ID" might mean.. Not for sure if it's related to Windows 7, but through I would try at this locale first.. Please advise if I need to post elsewhere... As always, thanks for your help...! S

Hi All Auto complete may be the wrong term but I'm talking about when I do a Google search. Everything I have searched for is saved so each search I make is stored and appears in blue whenever I click on search. although there is the facility to remove each item manually I'm getting flooded with dozens if not hundreds of previous searches. I have tried finding the solution in Google search and tried several options but it all leads to nowhere as when I go to Settings - advanced the suggested button to click 'passwords and settings is not there. only passwords. Hope someone can help please! Ray

Hello, I have recently purchased a larger SD for my phone, and I wanted to move all my files from the old SD card to my computer first, and then back to my new SD card. However, after they got transferred to my PC, they went crazy. My folders 'compressed' and showed two blue arrows on top (I have tried to untick the 'compress file' from the secondary menu, but is not successful). Each of my photo now has 10GB!! No programme will open any of my photos. I can't move the whole file anywhere, as I need 27TB of space???? How on earth did that happen? They were coming from a small 32GB SD card. I have been Google'ing it, but don't even know how to address the problem, as it is…

Hi all, I have my laptop mounted on 4, 22mm supports to facilitate movement of air, but occasionally I get the message that my laptop is overheating. Not knowing what else I can do, I turn it off. I'm tempted, albeit reluctant, to use my compressor (gently) on the innards, but haven't done so, as yet. It's not as though it's being used for hours on end, but when not in use, I do leave it on at my email page. Any advice appreciated. Cheers.

Hello to all my friends here at FreePCHelp..... I'm hoping you can help me with this one, as it's something I've never experienced before.. This morning when seeing my computer, it was clear I'd had a Windows Update overnight.. I when through the usual ritual after an Update, and when things appeared to be ok I clicked to get online via Chrome on the taskbar.. Nothing happened! The icon remain highlighted, but then kind of "ghosted out" on me.. Not only that, but shortly thereafter the computer turned itself off all by itself.. I finally got it to stay on for long enough to get on Firefox, and that is the current browser I'm using.. I did attempt System Resto…

Hi, 2 days ago my building or a building nearby was struck by lightning and my computer has been having difficulties since. My SSD was corrupted and the pc has been playing up a lot since. Today I was using my computer like normal when the screen froze, my peripheral LEDs began flashing and my headphones played a screeching sound. I turned off the computer the only way I could, via the power button, but now the PC will not detect any peripherals of any kind and powers up but remains idle after. I can not turn off the computer via the power button once it is on, only by using the PSU switch at the back. The fans spin on Graphics card, CPU fan, PSU and the HDD spins so I su…

Hi Everyone. My nephew gave me an old pc that had no battery, no ram, and no hard drive, and no name on it. But I knew I had a box of bits and could try to get it working. The very first pc I had was windows 98se. although the pc is long gone I still have the setup CD. I put a battery in it. put 1.5 gb ram in it. and put a 20gb maxtor hard drive in it. I inserted the windows 98se setup CD into it and it ran and went through the stages to install windows 98se. All went fine until at the end where it restarts and then comes up with the windows 98se screen, where it says "preparing to run windows for the first time" Then it goes to the screen which I have included in …

Need some opinion guys. Our company just bought a UPS last January, and my boss is currently bugging everyone to find an expert who can provide a quality impedance test for the batteries. Thankfully, my team and I managed to quickly find this UPS battery impedance test online. But I just want to know, aside from determining faults beforehand, what other benefits can this kind of test offer?

Hi, When I normally copy and paste a https address in Windows Live mail 2012, it appears in blue, and the recipient can click on it and open the link. I have tried to send a link and the colour is in black and white and a smaller font. I sent the email to myself to test it, and when you click on the link, nothing happens. I am running Windows 7.
