Hello again, its been a while! I have recently inherited an old but unused Dell inspiron 1525. It is running Vista 32. I have been updated and downloading for a day or two and I am still unable to download Adobe Flash. It initialises and sends it to my downloads, but when I try to open it to complete the process, it will not allow me. I have run out of ideas now as to how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated. I am using Firefox. Thanks.

Hi, I have a (ThinkCentre M72e) Window 7 Pro, 64 bit i5 computer here who's processor fan speed is running constantly at 100% even at boot up . To ensure this is not a over heating issue, I checked CPU with SpeedFan and ALL temperature readings are in the mid 40's and below. I moved the RAM from SLOT1 to SLOT2 and no change. Restored BIOS to Defaults, even Clear CMOS and replaced battery, still the processor fan is constantly running at full speed. What are my other options I can try to get the fan speed back to normal?

Hi everybody. Didn't know where else to post this so hope is appropriate. My sons old Apple laptop has finally died and he's looking to buy another but not Apple. He's going to have about £300 - £400 to spend. Can anyone suggest a good buy. It will be a 'home laptop'- not used for business. I know years ago some of you suggested a good reconditioned laptop supplier but of course new would be prefered to used. Hope you can help! Ray

Hi, I am running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit on my PC. I have installed Epson Expression Home XP-332. I already have Epson Stylus SX-215 installed. I am having problems uninstalling SX-215 and its scanner etc. I have gone to Control Panel > Programmes and Features. When I click on Uninstall the Printer and Scanner, the OK in the box isn't highlighted, so I cannot uninstall. Is it possible to uninstall these programmes in System 32, and if so, how do you pinpoint these files in System 32. Regards.

http://i.imgur.com/BZjk1wi.png Following the emergence of the WannaCry ransomware attack campaign last week, another, possibly bigger outbreak raging predominantly across the Ukraine is underway. The culprit? A new ransomware called XData. It was spotted over the weekend by security researcher MalwareHunter. MalwareHunter is one of the people behind the ID-Ransomware service that enables users to submit ransomware samples for analysis. XData was submitted via the service. The infections with XData across Ukraine have been increasing so rapidly it has raised XData to the second most active ransomware strain, second to the ever dominant Cerber. http://i.im…

The company has a fix for your Internet problems http://i.imgur.com/wmArRKL.jpg Last week, an update made to Avast's security solution took down the Internet for users. Now, the company has released a fix for all your problems. The fix, according to Avast, is being distributed via a micro-update to Avast Web Shield. If you want to download the fix, you'll have to turn off the Avast Web Shield which, in turn, will allow your Internet to work again. This, of course, was known from back when the problem occurred, as the company's forums were full of this solution. You'll then have to go to Protections >> Antivirus from the user interface and turn the…

Security researchers have discovered several variants http://i.imgur.com/msdzLOJ.png As expected, the WannaCry ransomware is not even close to being done, despite one researcher discovering a convenient kill switch. Other variants have already been discovered in the wild, some with a different kill switch, some with none at all. After security researcher going by the Twitter handle MalwareTech discovered that by purchasing a random domain name the initial spread of the WannaCry ransomware was stopped, it was expected that the attackers would simply remove this domain from the code, add another or just leave the code free of such an easy way out. Multiple re…

Could you help me out with this ... This laptop was previously sorted out on http://extremetechsupport.com/threads/16115-HP-550-running-slow-and-freezing#.WRNyP4jyu70 It has largely remained unused having been replaced by a iPad but each time it has been turned on it has worked perfectly. Someone has found a use for it and I was just checking to see if anything needed removing before I passed it on. It runs normally apart from the internet connection ... on wireless it says it is connected but with limited access. I connected a cable to my router but it still won't connect Thank you Ray
