Having had my trusty little surface RT for a few years now for use when travelling I was horrified yesterday when the Google Search app stopped working properly. Every time I do a search it pauses then comes up with a message saying "Unable to connect to the internet". However everything else is connecting fine. If I use the google from IE it works fine. I have rebooted, reinstalled the app but it makes no difference. After years of working well why should this now suddenly stop? Any help on this appreciated

Thinking about buying a new laptop. The one we have now is going really S L O W ! In fact I think its gonna grind to a halt soon, lol What should we be looking for? We do just the usual stuff, Amazon, Ebay, Facebook. We do tend to have a lot of pics, from hols etc. The one we have now is a 'hp' 17in, don't really want anything smaller. Any ideas which would be a goon 'un? Zippy and Zippett.:):D

Hi, i scanned my computer and when scanning with the Adwcleaner there are 2 registry files called KLM\SOFTWARE\CLASS.....(can't read the rest of the file and nothing shows up in the 'quarantine' part). I hit the clean button but those 2 files just won't disappear. I have scanned using 'Junkware removal tool, Malwarebytes (which don't show anything), CCleaner, then the Adwcleaner (which is where those 2 files are showing up). Any help would be much appreciated thanks. I am using Windows 8.1 on a HP Pavilion Laptop.

I have searched arount, i have tried to implement the exe file associations in the registry, I have run checkdisk, I have run SFC /SCANNOW, Which found corrupted files but was unable to fix, I have cleaned the registry but still no help, i have checked for malware and viruses. I wanted to repair the windows installation but cannot run the setup.exe. Among other .exe it cannot run are msconfig, device manager, systemproperties*.exe, UAC, Network properties and some other programs. The error i get "windows cannot find"path\to\file.exe". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and try again." most of these are running in SAFE MODE This system has run with no problems…

Ive got a few issues with a CPU overheating, i have an AMD FX 8320 CPU cooled by a Corsair H55 all in one water cooler, well allegedly its cooled by that device, all has been running well for quite some time, but now i keep getting warnings about CPU temperatures via ASUS AI suite2, using that same app the average temperature when idle is around 60C, going up to 75-80c when web browsing/watching youtube etc. If i'm doing anything intensive the temperature sky-rockets up to 85C and my pc just shuts off immediately. I've taken the fans off, cleaned out all the dirt and dust but its made no difference, the only thing ive noticed is a slight sound, a bubbling noise almost…

System HP ENVY23 64 bit all in one. Running Win 8.1 Hi all Today trouble started when I went to start a routine Malwarebytes (free) scan and the screen went white well sort of! I could just see my desk top icons so perhaps glazed would be better description than white. Not being able to get things back to normal I tried a routine turn off and re boot but would not turn off from the start menu so reluctantly went to turn off at the switch which finally worked after repeated pushing/holding to switch down. When I re booted later everything seemed good but when tried to connect to email or other desktop icons they were highlighted with the mouse but would not connec…

So I just switched on my computer like usually and found that my PC goes straight into BIOS. I noticed that the SSD is missing from the boot list, thus Windows not loading. I've been using this PC for 1 year since built, so far no issues of this nature. First thing I did was checking the connection on the ports/SSD. I switched the sata ports with places and with the first boot it worked(keep in mind that this was without my GPU installed on the motherboard). I switched off the PC,installed the GPU back and when powering the PC it took me to the BIOS screen again, with the SSD missing. I then removed the GPU again and repeated the first solution nothing changed,SSD sti…

When I boot up Windows XP, it will randomly BSOD to the stop error mentioned in the title. All of this happened after I switched to classic theme, installed Fire-fox, and removed some McAfee files. My computer is an HP Compaq DC5800 Small Form Factor with a Pentium Dual Core E5200, and Windows XP Pro SP2, factory downgraded from Windows Vista Business. Full Error: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Windows SubSystem process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x75e9ad23 0x0052f240). The system has been shut down.
