Hi,so I have a friend the same friend with HMRC issues and scammers,he isnt computer forum friendly or I wouldsend him here. Anyway he partner has Torch Browser issues andIve been on their FaceBook page and lots of people are having issues and no fixes being given. I say uninstall the rubbish, install Chrome or FireFox and give her laptop a good clean up via instructions. But its going to take me forever as neither are computer savvy.. Any advice, just clean up the computer and leave Torch installed or get rid of it and any known issues you know of? Thanks guys.

I currently use my apple earphones on my laptop as both a mic and headset on Skype/ Discord. Recently my microphone hasn't been detecting any audio input and my friends cannot hear me. When looking into my sound settings it has External Microphone selected and no option to select my earphones as the recording/ input device. Any ideas how I could fix it?

Brazen desktop locker campaign uses social media info to make its threat more compelling to victims. A newly discovered form of ransomware scrapes the social media accounts and local files of victims in order to tailor a customised demand, and threatens court action if it isn't paid. Dubbed 'Ransoc' by cybersecurity researchers at Proofpoint due to its connection with social media including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Skype, this ransomware represents yet another evolution of the malicious software which has boomed during 2016. It isn't the first ransomware variant to use social engineering in an attempt to scare the victim into paying up, but Ransoc is unique in how…

For those of you who've avoided upgrading to Windows 10 so far, Microsoft has offered some scary ransomware numbers to prove it's in your interests to do so. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/microsoftransomware770x476_zpsngtuqkmo.png Microsoft's data shows Windows 10 devices have fewer ransomware encounters than Windows 7 devices. If you want to escape the clutches of ransomware, the best thing you can do is install the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, according to Microsoft. Microsoft says there's been a 400 percent rise in ransomware encounters affecting Windows since 2015, but older versions of Windows are more exposed to it and more prone to a…

When I type the name of a document, video, picture, mp3 or whatever else into the search in windows explorer and it can't find any of them, even if I open my library and am look right at it. On a side note, I've had this computer for about 5 years now and I can remember before that the search worked just fine, but since then I've had to reinstall windows twice since then (long stories) and I don't quite remember when it stopped functioning correctly, but now I am just bound and determined to solve this problem. I searched around on google and tried running the windows search troubleshooter, but it found no problems. If you need more details please ask, thanks

Hello all, I have just joined your forum hoping to get help with a computer problem I have. I have just logged onto a laptop computer that has not been used since November 2015, so decided to update windows, when I click onto check for updates it continues trying to find updates for several minutes before throwing up a message requesting to try again, which I have done many times without success. I have it set to automatically install updates, I found the Windows update troubleshooter and ran it, but it did not find anything but gave out this code 0X 800705b4. Any help would be much appreciated. Johnyboy.

I have been having problems with a video that I've been trying to produce since August 2015 of last year through an editing program called Cyberlink Power Director 13 Ultra. I sometimes wish I had never bought it as it's been one problem after problem with it, and I'm fed up to the back teeth with it now. I'm running Windows 10 on a 32 bit processor (which I am changing to 64 in January as it just struggles with a lot of what I want to do now). I uploaded the saved file to my laptop (from a memory stick) which is a 64 processor and I had another problem (what a surprise) it says it now cannot find the files and says it's moved or is missing and shows them as black …

I am trying to install a GTX560 graphics card into a Dell Vostro 430. It works fine with the GT610 that is currently fitted but after fitting the GTX560 into the PCIe slot when I switch the PC on I get a succession of short beeps that suggests the test on startup has a problem with the video. The PC restarts and the same error occurs and carries on in a loop. This is actually the second graphics card I have tried that requires the additional power from the PSU. The first one was a Radeon 5850 and although the PC did not report an error with the beeps on startup the furthest I could get with this card was the startup/bios (not windows) and the screen was corrupted. The …

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere but I couldn't find anything. I'm trying to change the DNS server to OpenDNS on Windows 7 but every time I reboot it goes back to the original settings. When I was using a wifi connection I had an OpenDNS software that checked the settings on boot but since my wifi connection stopped working and I've gone wired the software stopped working so I uninstalled it, now I can't seem to find it to try downloading it again. So how do I change my DNS settings and make them permanent?

DXXD ransomware v1 decrypted, v2 undecryptable http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/dxxd-ransomware-shows-ransom-note-using-windows-legal-notice-screen-509149-2_zpsjot1cxzi.jpg A new ransomware that goes by the name of DXXD uses the Windows Legal Notice screen to show a ransom note even before the user logs on his or her computer. The Windows Legal Notice screen is an intermediary screen that appears before the Windows login form and, as its name hints, it's there for the purpose of showing various types of legal notices and other messages before a user can use the PC. This is the first time a ransomware author has used the Legal Notice screen to …
