I got a text from an email address I’ve never seen
by Guest Nat Muskett- 0 replies

the mystery email in question is:*** Email address is removed for privacy *** when texts are sent from an iPad they show the email address of the sender instead of the number. not sure if that’s the case here or what. never seen this one and i’m pretty certain it’s just scam as there is a link to click (i didn’t click it). i’ll attach a screenshot of the message at the bottom. naturally, i assume it’s some sort of webchat thing because of the age restriction mentioned and the ‘operate via mobile phone/ PC laptop’ part. not interested anyway but would like to know if anyone’s ever seen this address or the wha Continue reading...

So I just turned on my PC and started getting notifications , I don't download files etc from non trusted sources ... I do not recall connecting any USB , I do recall connecting an Android phone to the USB , as it required some charge and did that for about few minutes ... so the most likely cause might just be this ... I have Windows Defender and it's detecting these files and blocking them , but getting rid of them might be a better way of sorting things .. 1. Win32/ExcludeProc.A :behavior: pid:2880:23860413273102process: pid:2880,ProcessStart:133050464932892448 The command line being execut Continue reading...

How to Stop Spam Email after clicking on phishing link
by Guest PleaseHelp_455- 0 replies
Dear all,I had accidentally fallen for a phishing link which claimed that my Facebook account was hacked. Whilst I did not reveal any personal information or download anything, my inbox is now cluttered with a deluge of spam / junk emails which are painfully obvious scams. It would appear that my email has been identified as 'live' by these scammers.Unfortunately the email which I am using is my main email account which I would very much like to keep. Hence, deleting this said email would not be an option. Is there any way that I can put a stop to the spam emails which have been flooding my in Continue reading...

I recently got a new router and I see traffic from my Windows 11 PC that is going to Ireland (amongst other unsuspected regions). Is there a normal Windows thing that uses Ireland servers? For instance, maybe Onedrive? Or something else. Currently, I am blocking them, but I'd like to be able to figure out what is causing the outgoing traffic, if possible. Continue reading...

How do I get my security back without losing all my memories.

My Ex was big into messing with my accounts and devices in hopes that I would willingly give him my son for safety reasons. I noticed new flash drives, and some even had other people info on them!! !! along with caught him changing my passwords and blocking me from being able to use Wi-Fi in hopes that in blocking me I wouldn’t be able to access current devices because HE had to be on Wi-Fi to access the router. I however am the owner of the email and know the password to the company I have service through… so that was a quick fix!! However it says last week something was plugged into all Continue reading...

Any way to see partial results from "Microsoft Safety Scanner" 1.373.94.0?
by Guest EternalStudent07- 0 replies
I told it to do a full scan, and it's made maybe 10% progress in 16.5 hours. 44.5 million files scanned so far it looks like. Everything is CPU bound (50% usage of Intel i7-4790k at stock speeds, disk is hardly used in task manager). It's still scanning my C: drive which is an OK SSD (1TB, but over provisioned and maybe 60% full). I have a number of other drives after that.I've looked at the log file mentioned by Microsoft Safety Scanner Download"------------------------------------------------------------------ Continue reading...
