Hello folks this is my first post. I have just installed a new NVidia gtx 1070 graphics card and with it a new cougar 750watt PSU. I needed the new PSU because my old one did not have the required 8 pin plugs. It boots fine and runs as expected but when I shut down my monitor etc closes as per normal but my front case fan and CPU fan keep running and the LED's on my motherboard and graphics card stay lit....I have reset my bios to defaults. Next I checked the power management in win 10 64 bit......but I think its a PSU related problem because when I switch the PSU off with its own switch then back on again the LEDs and fans start up straight away before my pc posts…

I have a W7 operating system and most updates- resisting W10. I have been using firefox exclusively but of late find that links within the page I'm reading open to a blank sheet (window). Using Int. Exp. for the first time in ages to check out the fault, I'm faced with a Google page that wants to take over the computer/internet browsing. What options are there? Is it easier to learn another system? If so what? Jim.

Hi, My daughter's phone is constantly giving a message saying there is insufficient internal storage. She has moved what she can to the SD card and is trying to back up all her phone files to the PC, although it keeps saying there was an error during back up. This has started since an update to the operating system. Has anyone got any advice on how to go about freeing up space or going back to the previous OS without causing too much damage?? Thanks in advance

Good Afternoon All, I reinstalled Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP-1. I downloaded and installed the Servicing Stack Update and KB3125574 and ran them. This gave me only some 50 or so important updates. Since then no further updates have been notified although I know there are many pending (other two machines are updating). I selected an optional update for download, but I get nothing: 0KB 0% downloaded. Check for updates says none available. Any ideas ?

Ransomware found being delivered as Windows critical update http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/fantom-ransomware-mimics-windows-update-screen-507668-2_zpsewqwar6x.jpg Ransomware often tries to disguise its malicious behavior by various tricks. The latest method observed is from a new variant called Fantom, which shows a fake Windows Update screen, while in reality, it's encrypting the user's files. The ransomware, spotted for the first time only a few days ago by AVG security researcher Jakub Kroustek, is coded on top of EDA2, a ransomware building kit that was open-sourced last year, but eventually taken down. EDA2 contained flaws that allowe…

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/dll-files-used-for-infection-ransomware-virus-bestsecuritysearch-817x350_zpsxo2zo9df.png Ransomware viruses are constantly evolving. The newest “innovation” in the scamming business is the infection by delivering DLL files. Locky and other ransomware viruses usually distribute their payload with the help of EXE files. The new DLL method is still in the experimental stage, but it’s still very dangerous for users. Ransomware Changes Day-To-Day Ransomware scammers need to change their viruses constantly to avoid detection from anti-virus and anti-malware tools. The team behind the Locky ransomware has the …

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is having problems accepting USB connections from Amazon Kindle e-readers. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/windows-8-bsod-100022357-large_zpsb5nxjwar.png Microsoft’s Anniversary Update is causing headaches yet again, this time for owners of Kindle e-readers. Some Kindle Paperwhite and Voyager devices are causing PCs running the Anniversary update to lock up and display the dreaded blue screen of death (BSOD) whenever the e-readers are connected via USB, as first reported by The Guardian. The reason for this odd behavior is unclear, but Microsoft says it’s working on it. “We are aware of an issue with a sm…

Apple fixes memory issue that led to RCE in AirPort routers http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/apple-fixes-high-risk-security-flaw-in-airport-routers-505489-2_zpstxiajknj.jpg Yesterday, Apple released new firmware versions for its AirPort router models, which fixed a remote code execution (RCE) flaw tracked as CVE-2015-7029 and reported to the company last year by security researcher Alexandre Helie. Apple says that "a remote attacker may be able to cause arbitrary code execution" and take over the device, based on the complexity of their attack code. CVE-2015-7029 is a memory corruption issue, which Apple says exists in the way the router p****…

Microsoft's quick-actions tiles are a convenient way to get at key system settings. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/id-2956945-dsc_0026-100600602-large_zps6qm3wzig.jpg Quick actions are a new and very helpful addition that Microsoft added to the operating system in Windows 10. This feature lets you quickly adjust various options such as airplane mode, location settings, screen brightness, and battery saver. Quick-actions tiles sit inside the Action Center at the very bottom of the panel, and at first glance their arrangement may not seem that customizable. But it is, and Microsoft made that customization even easier with the Anniversary Upda…

It is also compulsory, but as it began rolling out reports followed that the mega update is causing PCs to freeze. Now Microsoft has confirmed one major issue and admitted it currently does not have a fix… Taking to its Microsoft Answers support site, the company has posted a new and self explanatory topic titled: ‘Windows 10 may freeze after installing the Anniversary Update’ and states there have been: The reference to “a small number” remains to be seen.
