Hello, I have recently took apart another computer and took out its CD-writer. I then took out my old cd rom (which is 2.86X) and finally decided to upgrade. While i was taking out my old cd-rom which is a CDR-2732 manufactured in 1995. I then took that out and put in the HP Cd-Writer Plus. While it was booting it created an error which is Disk boot failure please insert system disk. I then took it back out and put in my old one(the CDR-2732) and it booted up just fine. Im really frustrated since i built other computers before. My boot is Cdrom first HDD second and Floppy third. Im running a SOYO made motherboard which is a SKY7VEM-PRO. I have a AMD DURON 3D now…

Hey, I'm looking to upgrade my Graphics card. I'm running on 512MB RAM (Although I'm likely to upgrade that shortly also) and a http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Biostar_Biostar_M7VIQ_Socket_A_VIA_DDR_A_V_L_ATA133_USB2_0_MATX motherboard. The graphics card I've decided to get is a http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce6200_agp.html . I am not certain I have met some of the requirements. They are; -Being able to cope with 250 Watts (On the Motherboard?) -Intel Pentium 3 Processor -VGA or DVI-I for the monitor. How can I check those three? How difficult is it to install a Graphics Card alone? Could you suggest somewhere to order items from, in the UK? Thank …

I had a problem with my primary hard drive once so I temporarily used the slave as the primary, after I switched back my computer, when booting, would ask if I wanted to boot from XP or XP it didn't bother me because it was always on the right on. However, I had to replace the slave because it was about to die on me and the computer still asks which one I want to boot from. What I'm asking for is if there is any way to stop it from thinking that there are two it can boot from, thank you for any help.

Over the last week or so my PC refuses to shut down. It restarts itself instead of shutting down. When I hold the power button in it goes into hibernation (I think) and comes to life again when I press a key or move mouse. Other than this it seems to work ok. Any ideas on the cause would be greatly appreciated. Dan

Im not sure if its a good thing or a sin, but i got invited - and accepted - an invitation for Windows Live Messenger, the next generation of M$ apparently. :P Those of you who use MSN Messenger, probably found the jump from 6 - 7 a big'ish one in terms of features available. Winks, Nudges, Backgrounds, Handwriting tool, etc.. Well don’t get too excited because there isn’t that much that has changed. :D Apart from a face lift, the option to change a few colours and display settings, and some more personal information for each contact, everything still “feels” the same. However it is still in beta stages and due for release in mid 2006, so there is still time to impr…

While all of aero works alright, more basic stuff like video playback, doesn't, the colours look all.... green and blue.... and pink.... LOL. Colours are all messed up... and I dunno, I've checked everything.... Tested with the default Windows drivers for my Card, and then downloadded the Forceware for Vista Drivers from NVidia's page.... I have volunteered to help out at my kids school where there is a computer course for old people. I went thismorning to meet everyone and I have been helping this lady get to grips with the basics of MS Word. It was kind of fun actually, I love computers and its nice to put my skills to good use. Its a really friendly informal kind of course, which I thought was really good because these people can actually learn how to do the things they want rather than useless CLAIT crap etc. They just want to know how to write a letter and get send an email and general stuff like that. Yey, I'm helpful :)
