The BadBlock Ransomware is one poorly coded and horribly designed ransomware as it not only encrypts your files, but also trashes your system. Unlike almost all other ransomware infections, BadBlock will not only encrypt your data files, but it will also encrypt the executables on your computer, including important Windows system files. You starting to see the issue here? This means that if you reboot your computer after BadBlock encrypts your machine, you will find that the computer will no longer starts. This is because required executables have been encrypted as shown by the image below. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/badblock_brokenos1_z…

To better understand why the trojan is now extremely dangerous and why UK users should be very wary of what they install on their phones, a short lesson in Marcher history is needed. Marcher evolved from credit card data stealer to full mobile ba…

One can allow a crook to wipe devices clean http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/lg-smartphones-affected-by-two-severe-vulnerabilities-504624-2_zpsimy2del8.jpg Two researchers from Check Point's mobile security division uncovered two vulnerabilities in LG's custom modification of the Android OS, which enable attackers to take control of the device. The researchers presented their findings at this year's LayerOne security conference, but not before working with LG to address the issues. Despite Google's best efforts to secure the Android OS, changes made to the operating system by various OEMs introduced new vulnerabilities unique to those devices …

Security researchers from Russian firm Dr.Web have discovered a new banking trojan named Android.BankBot, which hides inside a game cheating tool for Android users. Google didn't name its app store the "Play" Store for nothing because it knew very well that games would take up most of our time while on our devices, and they were right. The Play Store currently harbors millions of games, from the most simple word puzzles to full-on sports simulators such as EA Madden Mobile. Android.BankBot hides inside game cheating tool called HACK As is with desktops, not all users are apt to play these games, and some will feel the need to cheat their way to a round's top s…

I've so far resisted the temptation to move from w 8.1 to w 10. My concern is that I'm worried that things like printers, routers, etc, will have trouble working properly. I'm wondering is the level of support for w 10 at a healthy stage at this time - or should I wait.

Most people fear losing social security numbers in ransomware attacks, which proves they don't know what ransomware is http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/ransom_zps8dzh6fik.jpg A Kaspersky study of over 5,000 users in Canada and the US reveals that even if ransomware is today's most dangerous and prevalent malware infection, a lot of regular users have no clue what it is and what it does. The study shows that while almost all security experts are sweating only by thinking of getting infected with ransomware even by accident, almost half of the surveyed users have no clue what it is, or that they can lose critical data after such infections. Kasp…

After using Windows Live mail and uTorrent for 5 years in my Win7 Ultimate x32bit, a new phenomenon has appeared. I keep those two windows in the secondary monitor. Generally there is a couple of inches between the bottom edge of the W.L.M. window and the top edge of the uTorrent window. If I happen to lower the WLM edge so it (accidentally) touches the top of the uTorrent window, the two edges get 'glued' together, so that if I want raise the bottom edge of WLM, or lower the top edge of uTorrent, they move in lock-step. How to 'separate' them, other than by closing one of them ?

Hi everyone! Bit of a confusing issue that's started happening with my Laptop... Whenever I go to power up my system it fails to load windows and will switch itself off after 15-20 secs (windows logo can be seen). After that I have to power on the system again and it will load as normal without fail. During the failed start-up - I notice the 'resuming from hibernation' text on screen as if my system hasn't truly shutdown even though I know I have selected 'Shutdown' when I switch it off. At first I thought it could be a problem with the battery and have since removed this to isolate the possibility... however the issue persists. The same will happen if I switc…

Security shocker: Ransomware creators give researchers the master decryption key Victims of the widespread TeslaCrypt ransomware are in luck: Security researchers have created a tool that can decrypt files affected by recent versions of the malicious program. Surprisingly, the TeslaCrypt creators themselves helped the researchers. TeslaCrypt first appeared in early 2015 and stood out by targeting game-related user content, such as save files and custom maps, in addition to personal documents and pictures -- 185 different file extensions in total. The program had some moderate success in the beginning, earning its creators $76,522 in less than two months. How…
