I need some help on how to join and synchronise (audio and picture) some video clips together into one file. The files in question are all in MP4 format but have different frame rates/bitrates as they have come from a number of different sources. I have never done any video editing and dubbing before so is it possible to combine these files together so that the sound and picture are synchronised. Is there any simple, free video editing software out there that can do these procedure. Any advice help on hoiw to do this would be most welcome.

A relative has asked me to upgrade her aging laptop (Acer Travelmate 5720) because she is getting messages about Vista not being supported soon. I have said I would upgrade to W7 in order then to qualify for a later W10 free upgrade - as I already have a couple of spare W7pro licences and both 32 and 64 bit install disks She does not have anything important on the laptop as her files have been backed up to another HDD. So my question is which way to do the upgrade. a) let the system upgrade b) to a clean install To my mind once she has W7 installed, the reserved reinstall partition that came with the machine will be simply unused and so that space will all be w…

Having upgraded to windows 10 I find that when I insert a DVD it will no longer AUTO RUN or list the MENU or CHAPTERS. It lists a stream of info for me to select a run situation. The DVD then plays using NERO, having removed this it now plays using VLC. How can I please get back to AUTO PLAY and or list the MENU as the standard windows media player appears to be missing?? I have set the start up to be –run using windows media player but it’s not there? Thanking you all in advance.

The security firm claims that all of the top 10 vulnerabilities targeted by exploit kits during 2015 were Flash flaws. According to historical records kept by the NTT Group, 2015 was the first year when exploit kits used more Flash flaws compared to Java, which almost disappeared from exploit kits altogether. This change in tr…

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/ransomware-can-infect-android-devices-without-any-user-interaction-503394-2_zpswtuta8na.jpg Today, researchers have discovered a new mobile malware distribution campaign that does not require any type of user interaction in order to infect devices with ransomware. The infection occurs when users visit a website that contains tainted JavaScript code. Blue Coat Labs says the malicious code is delivered via malicious ads (malvertising). Security researchers from Zimperium have confirmed that the malicious code contained an exploit leaked last year in the Hacking Team data breach. Malvertising hits Android devices …

Dear friends 12-y-o son has a fairly new Lenovo G510 laptop, intel core i3, 4GB ram, 500 GB which has worked brilliantly running, I think, windows 8? until he bought a second hand King Kong PC game (I looked, it was published in 2005 and is completely wrong for this OS) and stuck the disk into the disk drive. Now the only message appearing on the screen after the Lenovo logo is: No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key I don't think it came with a boot disk, I think when I bought it I just opened it and it worked. (Probably appropriate for my level of expertise.) If the worst comes to the worst, it was from John Lewis about 7 months ago so it s…

I think the answer to my problem must be simple - but for the life of me I cant find it. The issue is as follows on my system with all PCs running W10 I have a network of 4 pcs and one of them acts like a library for the others. On that PC is a large HDD containing loads of stuff which can be accessed from the other PCs The drive has two primary folders, one called "archive" and one called "files" So far so good I have made the drive sharable and it appears under the network on all the other PCs and when I click on it I can see the two main folders on any of the other PCs. All looks good at that point. However, although I can open and view the contents of…

Ubuntu's supposedly secure app package format doesn't do much to improve security on the desktop, according to a well-known Linux kernel developer. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/matthew-garrett_zpsx0lg0gaq.jpg The new Snap app package format is a headline feature of the new Ubuntu 16.04, touted by Canonical as a secure way of developing software that makes it impossible for an app to steal your data. "The security mechanisms in Snap packages allow us to open up the platform for much faster iteration across all our flavours as Snap applications are isolated from the rest of the system," Olli Ries, head of Canonical's Ubuntu client platform prod…
