Having my PC scanned on a regular basis I still manage to find a scam who can enter my email and cause me more than serious problem. My emails have been blocked out & In for over 2 weeks now I have the micro soft defender in place. But that has not been that successful so far, so I am looking for a good secure program to keep this virus at bay. When I update Defender it appears to download and try to install the latest definitions. Then I get the message "The virus and spyware definitions didn't update on 9/3/2016, 1:23 PM because of an Internet or network connectivity problem. There are no other error codes or messages. There is a warning (!) symbol next to the Definitions created on: date line. The Virus definition version is 1.227.1509.0 The Spyware definition version is 1.227.1509.0 Today's date is 9/13/2016, so this have been a problem for a few days. I was playing WGT golf program when I received the message. I have had Windows 10 which I upgraded from Windows XP since windows 10 first offered the upgrade. Now it is gone and I am now back to windows 7. My PC was a refurbished PC which I bought through Sears. It is a Dell Optiplex 760. Why can't I get my Windows 10 back. Windows Defender alerts me a scan should be done (i've put everything on automatic so this is strange in itself). Then when i tell defender to scab, after a while it keeps hanging, and even if i tell defender to stop scanning because everything slows down terribly, it does not improve until i restart.
