As the threadname says: With my cMP 5,1 i tried to gain access to some old TomTom sportswatch via USB, using some Java app. Manufacturer dropped support. So the original app is not an option anymore. The app launches fine with terminal command "java -jar TomTomWatch.jar. But as soon as it has launched i keep getting an USB-error... Code: ERROR: USB Error: USB error 3: Unable to claim interface: Access denied (insufficient permissions) ...over and over again. So no acces to the watch possible. Machine is on Monterey 12.7.6 via OCLP 1.5. Can this be some System Integrity Protection thing solveable with the OCLP-settings? Or are there any other known solutio…

According to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apples upcoming base model Macs could start with 16GB RAM by default, up from 8GB. This breaks a tradition that Apple has had going for around 8 years now. Apple increased the base RAM of the base model 13-inch MacBook Air from 4GB to 8GB in 2016, and since then it’s been the standard. For the most part this has been fine, but in recent years it’s been a growing complaint. However, that could be changing soon. According to Gurman, the tested M4 Macs “all have either 16 or 32 gigabytes of memory.” This means upcoming Mac buyers would potentially have 16GB of RA…

My Mac Pro hits the logo, loads about halfway and then loops or goes black. I have exhausted the google searches. Before the logo I get the three options - boot my drive ( goes to logo and then loops) - recovery ( goes blank after trying to reload or do something) - nvram reset ( I think it resets then goes back to the three choices again The last thing on all the apple support options to solve it says to take it into the shop, I live in the mountains. General advice for those concerned about their battery from the Support FAQ Wiki: Battery health Battery health depends on usage and a variety of other factors. It is normal to see a decrease in battery health by 7-10% per year, resulting in a battery health of 80-85% after 2 years. This number can fluctuate, remain the same, or decrease quickly over a small period and should not cause undue concern. Apple recommend battery replacement when your device falls below 80% battery health if you notice reduced battery life. If it falls below 80% within the first year you may be eligable for a free battery replacement. It fails after your warranty, it's a $69-$89 USD re…

by Guest DevoAtari- 0 replies

Hey, I've dealt with Dave from MacVidCards a bunch of times, first with an HD6870, then a GTX760, then a GTX970... Every one of those times was fantastic, albeit, he was getting harder and harder to get a hold of, over time. Now, I sent an email 8 months ago, which he still seemed great, quickly replaying that I could definitely drop off my card on a weekend... Then... Nothing... Absolutely nothing. Emailed about 10 more times, since then, and I've received no response. Looking around... Read more Source: MacRumors

I'm curious if others are having this problem. I have a Mophie QI wireless charge pad that is so finicky when trying to get it to accept my iPhone 13 Pro Max with a slim case. Worse I just bought a 2023 Genesis GV80 with a built in QI wireless charger and it will not charge the same phone with any case on it. Also its very hard to get a consistent signal without a case. I've tried several of Apple cases none will work. When I try an iPhone X with a case it works perfectly. I'm thinking... Read more Continue reading...

Strange CarPlay Issue with XR
by Guest jmoore5196- 0 replies

I use two iPhones - a 13 mini, and an XR. My vehicle is a Mazda with native CarPlay. When I use the iPhone 13, CarPlay works without an issue. When I connect the XR, however, I cannot initiate CarPlay. I have to play content through the USB connection or via Bluetooth. Bluetooth is working with both iPhones, and I've followed all the online tips to try to 'fix' the XR - turning Airplane Mode on and off, turning Siri on and off, etc. - and have even reinstalled from a two-week-old backup... Do you believe a GeForce 7300 GT era video card, run in an x8 slot instead of an x16, may have a significantly longer lifespan, because it has consistently been run below maximum supported speed? https://forums.macrumors.com/attachments/expansion-slot-utility-x8-vs-x16-3b-1-jpg.2029992/ Source: MacRumors
