2010 iMac 5,1 Display Out to two Monitors with MSI AMD R9
by Guest MacYeti- 0 replies

Hey everyone, need some advice on some things and I figured this was the place. I have a Mac Pro 2010 5,1 that I have had for a few years now. Purchased a MSI AMD Radeon R9 390X series to bump up the graphics. I also have a Late-2009 27" iMac sitting around that I was hoping to use in Target Display Mode as a second monitor. Still works but at a snail's pace. I bought an HDMI to Mini DisplayPort cable hoping that might work but, of course, it did not. Just to check, I have used... Read more Source: MacRumors

Acceptable temperature range?
by Guest feedmethememes- 0 replies

Hi, I just have a quick question as I can't seem to find a straight answer here or there... I have a MacPro 3,1 that I just reconfigured. It's been very hot this past week, and my computer room is an 86F sauna. I installed iStat just to make sure I wasn't melting anything inside (as my body sure was) and I'm a bit concerned about my temps, particularly "AMB IC" on my memory risers, CPU dies, and the PSU. I was hoping someone might be able to tell me what acceptable ranges for these parts, or... Read more Source: MacRumors

Anyone know how to disable this feature for Airpods?
by Guest TheRock88- 0 replies

So my family and I are planning a trip this weekend and this has happened several times during our past trips and I want to make sure it doesnt happen for this upcoming one. So say I'm listening to music and getting directions (using my Airpod Pros) from the Maps app when someone calls my mom and she picks up the call. Now the call instantly gets transferred to my Airpods Pro and I can hear the other person but my mom hears nothing now. Is there a way I can disable the feature on my phone or... Apple's newly revised MacBook Air borrows design cues from iPad to deliver an even lighter and smaller design, with higher resolution displays and long battery life. The new Airs also have more ports that are easier to access and hit price points that make it difficult for buyers to choose between the new models and the existing entry level MacBook, and the faster and more expandable MacBook Pros. The 11 and 13 inch MacBook Air models themselves are difficult to choose between, with the lighter, smaller model offering a few weaker aspects than its larger 13 inch sibling: a slightly slower CPU and system bus, smaller SSD options, and a lower resolution screen. However, …

I've used every MacBook Air since it was originally released, and I still use an 18-month-old Air for hours and hours every day," Paul Venezia reports for InfoWorld. "My last Air was top-of-the-line, with a dual-core 2.13GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, and the 128GB SSD, purchased in June 2009. I purchased a top-of-the-line [13-inch] model this time as well, bearing the same dual-core 2.13GHz CPU, but now with 4GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage ($1,799 from the Apple Store). The difference in performance between the two is significant -- and that's saying something." "It has the oomph to handle just about every general-purpose task you can throw at it while weighing in at less…

Aspect ratio new monitor on Mac Pro 2009 not right
by Guest Levina- 0 replies

Hello, I bought an Eizo ColorEdge CS2731 27", 2K monitor. For a while it will have to work with my early 2009 Mac Pro until I move to a new Mac later this year. I only had the DVI to DVI cable here and the monitor works, but not at the 2K resolution. The desktop is crammed in the middle and stretched. The Mac Pro does see the monitor, it is listed in System Preferences and selected. When I tried to make a screenshot it showed me the desktop the way it is supposed to look, so the Mac doesn't... Hi everyone, I would appreciate a bit of a help here. I've a Mac Pro 5.1, and I've recently updated to High Sierra, the problem I'm facing is that the NVRAM variables are removed after restart of the machine. I'm using GTX 980 ti GPU and it was working fine with El Capitan, it should work fine with high sierra as well should the Cuda and Nvidia Web drivers are picked by the system. BOOT ROM Version is MP51.0089.B00 SMC Version: 1.39f11 macOS 10.13.6 (17G6030) CUDA Driver Version... Read more Source: MacRumors

Button On Edge To Disable Sounds Question ?
by Guest Robert4- 0 replies

Hello, Thanks for previous help; very appreciated. New SE user. Regarding the 3 buttons along the edge: I understand that two of them are for making sounds louder or softer. Re the third one; the one that show orange if pushed downward: I was charging the phone last night, had the phone normally On, as was suggested, and apparently a few calls and noises came in and scared the occupants of the room. *If I push this button down, and the orange shows, would this disable truly... Cheap 7.1 Upgrades for 2022
by Guest randy85- 0 replies

Although it is no longer the new hotness, I was wondering if anyone has been upgrading their 7.1 recently due to good deals out there? Right now in the UK you can get a 6800 XT for £650. I bought one a year ago for almost double that and it's been great. I also picked up some Mac Pro Wheels for £179. They're kind of useless, but a 74% discount makes for a fun novelty purchase. I'm guessing its quiet here because people are just quietly getting on with work on their nice... Read more Source: MacRumors

Many users show no habits to keep hardware info. But Mac hardware information is really useful. When we want to upgrade our Apple computer or sell it, then we need to check the hardware information. But we do not like to check the hardware info all times. We can choose "Magican" to export the information as pictures or files. It make user can easily manage the hardware.

After you have used Apple computer over months, your Mac system may appears to be slow with unwanted caches, useless language packs and binaries. Sometimes, Mac users store duplicate files at different locations and forget them. Each of these duplicate files, cache files, unnecessary language packs and binaries take small space of your Mac system, but combine all the useless files together may rouse your Mac system become unacceptably slow. In such a situation, Mac users need a utility to optimize Mac system and clean all unnecessary files to speed up Mac. Long and short Im working on installing my mini in my car for trips because I travel so much and Im tried of messing with my Ipod and dealing with my portable Garmin. I have talked about Magican AntiTrojan in another topic, it can check and remove Flashback Trojan and all infected file. Now this app gets updates now, not only can remove the horrible Flashback Trojan, but also it enables users to check and remove other three kinds of viruses from Mac computer, including MacKontrol, Sabpab and Onlx. Even this app can only remove few viruses from Mac, but the developer will updates it soon and add more features to fulfill this app. This app is free. If you like this app, you can visit Magican official site for it.

Hi all, Ive been running Mojave on my flashed 5,1 with a EVGA flashed GTX 680 with no problems for the last couple of months. However I noticed that my Audio interface wasnt being recognised (which was odd - saffire pro 56 firewire), so I re-installed its drivers. When I restarted, it wouldnt get past the loading screen. It shows a full loaded bar but sticks there. When I boot into recovery mode, and try to re-install the os, it wont allow as it says it needs a metal capable card. Does... Read more Source: MacRumors
