Hi I'm Nicki I'm not a techie, or even a hobbyist, but I am the one who has to sort out my kids laptops when they mess around with them (physically and virtually!) I'm here for advice and you'll find me in the window update section. Hoping some of you more technically minded people can help me and teach me! In return I can tell you about childbirth, since midwifery is my trade! Thanks

Hello, My name is Stan. I am in the southern CA area. A TRUE Computer Novice ... when I had computer classes in college, they still had punch cards to give you an idea of my 'generation' ! My entire computer experience has been Apple [Mac], and only began after getting married to an avid Mac user. The reason that I sought out help here on the forums is that I have been a very active forum contributor on motorsport enthusiast forums, and know that a wealth of knowledge exists on these boards. I am hopeful to have someone or plural spoon-feed me information about repairing/upgrading an older Mac Mini G4 that is currently a paperweight. I have a MacBook, and the late…

Back in June, we shared a look at Microsoft Edge’s industry-leading efficiency, which allows Microsoft Edge users to rely on more battery life than the other browsers we tested. With the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, we made a number of additional improvements to make Microsoft Edge last even longer, and today we’re rerunning our tests with the latest version of each tested browser to see how things match up. At the risk of giving away the ending, the results may look familiar! With the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Microsoft Edge is more efficient than ever, and still the best choice for extending your battery life on Windows 10 – up to 24%-43% more efficient than t…

With the official debut of Microsoft Ventures in late May, the momentum is already underway in our first few months. Our aim is to use this fund to place bets on innovators who align to our investment focus – cutting-edge technologies that better enable digital transformation. The reception we’ve received, from both the entrepreneurs who are aligned with our ambitions and the VCs who see us as a valuable partner, has blown past our expectations. We are now providing financing and strategic relationships with Microsoft to entrepreneurs in New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Tel Aviv. We’ve seen great deal flow and have already completed 13 investments from Series A to Ser…

Hello Windows Insiders! It’s been a busy few weeks here in Redmond. Last week, we had engineering reviews where each team presented their plans for the next few months to make sure that the customer scenarios we want to deliver are all prioritized appropriately. It was great to see all of the Windows leaders in the same room and the energy and excitement about this release was obvious by some of the live-tweeting that went on during the week. You will see the results of the reviews in the builds that will be coming out in the next few months. Now, onto the news you all have been waiting for! Today we are excited to be releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14915…

After years of being dissatisfied with my PC, and my latest PC being a real lemon, I have made the decision to try a Mac mini, and an Air Superdrive. I already have an iPad, an iPhone 4S, an iPhone 4 (my wife's) and several iPods, I decided it is time to go completely Apple. I have never had any problems with my Apple products. My last PC was, at the time it was built, a very powerful platform. I used it mostly for gaming on the weekends, but also for working at home on business projects, all in MS Office, as well as some photo editing, and from time to time watching streaming movies and DVD's. My question is, which Mac Mini do I need. Is 2gb of memory enough, or…
