  1. Thanks for your reply Dalo. I am planning on getting a 24" screen and thought it would be better to get one decent GPU then 2 or 3 smaller ones on SLI/Crossfire (to me its just more to go wrong and replace in the long run) Just got to wait for my bonus in a months time now! :-) Cheers!
  2. Hi guys, Looking at building a new PC for gaming and simulation, please check out the spec and let me know your thoughts please!? I know the new 2600k is out but im still tempted to stick with the 950? Nexus Edge (already have) Gigabyte GA-X8A-UD9 Intel Core i7 950 ASUS ATI Radeon 6970 2048MB Corsair H70 Liquid CPU Cooler G.Skill Ripjaw *GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz PSU, HDD, Optical drives etc - undecided (I have a 750W PSU which is brand new already)
  3. ----- Hi! The GPU is fully seated in PCI slot with the 6PCI-E power cable plugged in and it will not boot. Replace it with old GPU starts straight away? So no other loose cables. You are correct about X16 PCI slot not being avail as this was being used for original GPU. I have tried several times to start the PC, with original GPU in, the fans come on at high speed for a sec or two then as it boots to BIOS selection screen they calm down and PC boots. With new GPU the fans say running at high speed and nothing else happens. I have not tried anything within the BIOS/rest jumper or battery as I am unfamiliar with that side of things, although could try t if I knew what I was looking for/doing? Ay help would be greatfully received!
  4. Hi All! I have purchased a second hand GPU (cant afford a new one at present) but having installed it my PC wont boot up. Could this be a compatibility issue? I have an old HP Pavillion w5261 HP Pavilion w5200 Desktop PC series- HP Pavilion w5261.uk Desktop PC Product Specifications - c00553944 - HP Business Support Center and wanted to upgrade the GPU to play my simulators with the graphics options turned up a bit. I have got a second hand ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB which when I installed the PC would not boot up. The PC starts with all fans running and lights on the PC and GPU light up but it doesnt go any further than that. If I put the old card back in it works fine! Any suggestions or help or should I just give up now? Many Thanks Dan Also, I have already upgraded to a 750W PSU
