I have had the same proble on a Sony Vaio with a LED screen.... I tried 3 different screens from the same person on ebay. THe first one sent me an LED screen that was pushing out opposite colors with a good backlight. THey then sent me a screen that appeared to have no back light. Then they sent me another screen with no backlight. I believe there is an inverter board type of hardware under the screen that has to be correctly sautered, and such to make the LED screen work. My suspicions lead me to believe that the screens i had gotten were not assembled correctly. I am trying a more expensive screen soon and hope that it will work the problem. DId you come to a conclusion yet?!!!!!!!!
