  1. Heya guys. I've owned a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop (running Windows XP) for about a year and three quarters, but this morning it quite out of the blue decided to pack up. Basically now, I cannot load the laptop properly, and whenever it gets to the Windows XP loading page (the one with the green scrolling bar) it goes onto a blue screen, and gives a message saying that Windows has been shut down to prevent damage, and then gives the 'technical information': *** STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x82E43940, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000) I can't even load Windows in safe mode or anything, which has made trying to restore the Windows setup impossible (I believe), and if that wasn't enough, my restore disk (which might help Windows to load?) is a few hundred miles away back home. If anyone out there has any idea how to fix this, or why its happening I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Matt
