Ok, thanks. Lets forget Apple :( A bit ignorant on this, sorry. If I was to buy a new MP3 player, obviously not Apple, would that accept the music files I have on my laptop? There are 65 files with roughly 200mb per file. It says on each: Backup files : Type: Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Yes, it is an old ipod classic. What I do not understand is why the few albums that, for some reason, are still on my itunes, will not sync onto my ipod. And then, why all of my music, which I have taken off of my old external hard drive onto this laptop, will not upload to itunes?

Yes, it restored to nothing which is what is on there!!! I have found an old external hard drive which thankfully had my music on. I have uploaded this to my laptop but it seems impossible to get it back onto itunes. The option on itunes is to "import folder" or "import file". It will not do either. Could it be in a wrong format that itunes doesn't recognise? The few albums left on my itunes, which I presume are the only ones I purchased, will not sync to my ipod anyway. It says syncing but when finished there is still nothing on my ipod.

That is what I asked Apple when they eventually got back to me. They told me it has all gone and there is nothing they can do. They said they can not go back to a previous date when my music was on there. I do not believe that whatsoever.

I realise this may not be the right place to post this but I am devastated and would appreciate any help or direction as where to go.

I have no idea what to do. Ok, old tech but I liked it. I have an ipod classic that had all of my enjoyable music on, appx 400 albums. I was happy with it, it was all I wanted. Recently the battery run out and instead of the grey screen prompting "connect to power", it said "you need to reconnect to your itunes". I was apprehnsive about doing this as I had not used itunes for 9 years, no need to. But after being unable to recharge, I took a leap of faith and reloaded itunes and connected my ipod. What a mistake. Everything deleted from ipod AND itunes. I have uploaded my backup of my music to my laptop but it seems impossible to upload any of it to itunes hence I cannot get it back on my ipod. Any ideas? PLEASE. I contacted Apple and they said tough, it was my fault!!! I am absolutely gutted.

Thanks Ken, I had looked at 1, 3 and 8 but I hadn't noticed the link at the bottom; that seems to have worked. Although Twitter videos still says "media can not be played", videos are working elsewhere and I'm not that bothered about Twitter!

Hi Ken, tried run as administrator; still nothing. Tried the link you gave me, nothing. It just doesnt want to load. Have now tried on Chrome as well as Firefox, still nothing.

Hello again, its been a while! I have recently inherited an old but unused Dell inspiron 1525. It is running Vista 32. I have been updated and downloading for a day or two and I am still unable to download Adobe Flash. It initialises and sends it to my downloads, but when I try to open it to complete the process, it will not allow me. I have run out of ideas now as to how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated. I am using Firefox. Thanks.

Can any one tell me how to totally get rid of OneDrive? I thought I had uninstalled it but it keeps on syncing when I don't even want it, nor have I ever used it. When it is syncing, it nigh on stops my pc. Annoying.

"Limited Connection" is router speak for "no connection at all !! " Ah! That finally makes sense, ha ha!!!

Hi KenB, it does connect to his wifi but states "limited connection" which doesn't enable me to get internet access. It may as well say "not connected" seeing as I cannot access anything!!!
