  1. Hi I am looking to buy a new computer but have been confused by the sales people in the usual high street stores so went to an independent shop who gave me these specs: AMD Phenom II X2 555,3.2 GHz 4GB Corsair DDR3 1333MHz 500GB SATA II NVIDIA GeForce GT220 1Gb Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (SP1) 1 Year Onsite Warranty £415.27 inc VAT My question is - is this going to be a good config for a family PC - doing usual things, kids homework, old games (theme park, sims etc) plus banking, browsing, music, and my charity work (trying to set up a group for young people) I can't stand the noise of fans whirring all the time so would like a good quiet - if not silent PC - please tell me honestly if I can get this from the above spec or if I could get something better for the price
  2. intel core duo 2 E6750 2.66ghz nvidia corp I have built this computer myself a year or so ago It has had a problem for a while where it has shut down when it got warm but then it stopped completely. Tried to put a new copy of windows on it but now it won't start at all - goes on as if to boot up (black screen giving above details) then just stops with a cursor and wont move from that. Is it fixable or should I cut my losses?
