Thank you for your help and I will try this tonight. The problem though with using the original cd/dvd is that it is for Windows XP and now I'm running Windows 7.

Hi I was using a cd rom for card making and printing images from that without a problem. Then the other day there was a message on my screen after logging in for an Adobe reader update which I clicked on as I thought I would probably need it. Ever since then it seems I cannot print and keep getting a pharsing error in file c/hp/digital imaging (or something like that). I have tried all I know how to try to rectify this but nothing will work. I've uninstalled both Adobe reader/flash reader and the HP photosmart C4480 printer and reinstalled but nothing works. I'm tearing my hair out so can anyone offer any help at all please?

it happens just after switching on ... the power light it lit and the bulb icon is lit. it cuts out after a few seconds so would not be over heated by then

Hi, My Acer 292 EXC Travelmate will no longer start up. I have it on mains, so battery shouldn't be an issue. If I leave it for a while it will start up but then cuts out. Trying to start it in safe mode does not help either. Any idea what the problem might be please. My OS is Windows XP.
