  1. Ok. I started with IRQL equal or less etc memory dump BSOD happening on a fairly regular basis. Next, I got up one morning to find "No signal detected" on the monitor and eventually realised that the pc "thinking light" was no longer flashing. Oddly, we werent getting any "beeps" from the MB. I toddled off to a pal with my pc to borrow his psu. He also had a few tricks with the BIOS batterry etc, still nothing and no beeps with the ram removed. My next trick was to buy a CPU, fitted and pasted it. Turned on...some thinking lights and one continuos tone with ram removed. Still no booting though, even with peripherals unplugged. What now? Any ideas
  2. Im getting no beeps at all from the pc, though I need plenty for my bad language! It never has beeped during this issue. I did try a ram from a neighbour, but I dont know how he has kept it TBH. It has been tried with no ram too. There is no response from it other than the power light. No beeps, no thinking light, no signal to monitor. Have been watching a CPU on ebay just for the sake of trying it. Might it be worth getting a replacement ram instead/also.
  3. Small addition : Before you say it, I know...I bought my base from PC World, and just out of curiosity (due to fixing my sons xbox) I decided to check the thermal goo between the sink and processor. PC world had deemed it ok to use a small circle of paste, about the size of a thumb print. Which is pathetically stingy. I know they are tight, but jeese... Pasted it up myself, just in case but still no go.
  4. That was it! Stupid PC! Dumping! Im about ready to turn it on its side and return the sentiment!
  5. TBH, I really cant recall. I remember it saying it was dumping. Something bizzarre like iqsl_blah_blah_blah_bug_ger I actually searched for it, so if Id have been lucky, it would have been in my search history...but Im not, so its on the search history of the broken pc!
  6. OK, New update... Monitors checked and working, Power supplies checked and working, BIOS reset - nothing happens Graphics card fitted - still nothing Swapped Ram card - nothing .... .....my pc looks very poorly,...almost dead.... What now? cpu and board replacement?
  7. Hi, well, I think that may be the problem perhaps. Mine is an onboard. Thinking I may have to go get a plug n play graphics card...but still could be in the same boat... I think that may be the issue with the drivers, as they may have been for the plug in card and not for the on board...athough info didnt state that, its merely a guess. Thanks for spreadin the news.
  8. Monitor light goes green, shows Logo, then shows "no signal detected" then monitor light goes orange and display shuts off..not the monitor. Monitor has been tested and is working fully on another PC. I upgraded the drivers and after a restart, there was no display. The problem I have is that without the display, I cannot change the settings/drivers. The signal from the pc is not getting to the monitor, the monitor is fully working. I cannot get the BIOS to display either, I cant see it. I have tried pressing F8, I cant tell if that works, I cant see it. I have reset the bio via removal of battery. It didnt work.
  9. Ok, removed power cord, and MB battery...rebooted..nothing. F8'd aswell...nothing
  10. Definatly not the monitor, I tested that on the laptop and its working perfectly. Will try resetting the bios.
  11. Hi, Thanks for the welcome. I have tried that one...nothing comes up Anything else I can try? thanks for trying
  12. Ok, long story short: My pc kept BSOD'ing when on youtube and similar. This only happened after I got a new monitor. Was told I needed to update nvidia drivers. Updated. Shut down at bedtime. Rebooted the next day. No signal detected!!! But I cant see the flaming thing to remove said dodgy drivers as the monitor is not getting any signal. Any help much appreciated. cheers
