  1. I think you have a system problem, not a virus. The usual causes for random shutdowns are: Overheating triggers auto-shutdown to protect the CPU, Memory module going bad or Power supply going bad.
  2. This happens due to lack of needed drivers. You need to visit hp.com and find the needed drivers, install them and try to scan. if the printer is in sleep mode, turn it off and restart you printer. i was also facing the same problem with my printer. I just reinstalled the drivers and restarted the printer. Thats it.. It was working fine. Hope this will work for you as well.
