Hi KenB, Thanks for your reply. I have gone down the restore point road and at the moment it seems to be working. However I will certainly use "Last Known Good Configuration" if the problem recurs. Brian.

Recently my computer began to shut down as requested and then restart constantly! This would continue even after I used the 'Force' option. Now I can only switch off by disconnecting the power! I have run mawb and Free windows registry repair, should I try using a restore point?
