Hi All, Hi All and thanks for allowing me access to your forum. I am a computing novice really, although I can tap a few keys and am quite competent with various programmes, this is the first time I have built a PC from scratch. Anyway the problem.................... I have bought and assembled the following components: Coolermaster HAF X Case Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1200W PSU Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 (rev. 2.0) MOBO Gigabyte GTX 560 OC Edition 1GB Dual DVI Mini HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card 5 No. Hitachi 3TB Deskstar 7K3000 3.5" Hard Drive SATA 6GB/s 7200RPM 64MB Cache Intel Core i7 960 3.2 GHz Socket 1366 8MB L3 Cache 4 No. Kingston 4gb Ddr3 1333mhz Memory Module LG BH10LS30 10x BD-RE with DVD±RW SATA Blu-Ray Drive My problem is the monitor I attached doesnt come on at all, Ive test it with various monitors and still doesnt work, although I know thats a problem, I believe the problem itself is probably todo with the motherboard. I connected the standard 24 pin ATX cable into the correct connection and all seems fine with the MOBO, graphics still doesnt work, although fans on the card work. However I try to connect the 8 pin connection from the PSU to the MOBO ATX_12V_2X and all shuts down completely. Surely this isnt supposed to happen. I am building the PC to act as a media server for my home and pray that someone will be able to help. Cheers and Thanks Daley
