  1. thanks for the help Nev i will tell him this as me with a soildering iron is a joke. Thanks again Neil
  2. Okay i have it figured the laptop has to be on charge for 30mins before can turn it on strange
  3. Hey Nev, it only has 3 indicators Power(as in on off) battery (pluged in and charging fine no flickering) and hdd after you turn on and does its turn off the charging light goes out and you have to do all that above to get it working again
  4. Okay best to describe this in steps okay first everythings plugged in as normal E.G. charger however thats were everything changers 1. turn on (this usually takes a good long 3sec pressing down on the power button before anything happens) 2. it will turn on and then straight away the caps lock, num lock, and fuction light comes on for a split second and then turns off. To get it to even turn on again requires you to take the battery out for a minuet or so then plug charger back in and then press the power button like a mad man untill comes on again but it will just do this again. few days ago i managed to get it to successfully boot a few times after removing the RAM and Re-seating it that seemed to work. only now tried to turn it on today was working for about 30mins then all started again. its been taken to a few shops before me and my mate was told was a problem with the switching between battery and power cord (thats confusing me cause i had it working by re-seating the RAM) I just want to know is it a power issue or a RAM issue or even corrupt BIOS and or does this happen if the wrong proccessor is installed. thanks again. Neil,
  5. hey thanks for the help in the end i had to buy the replacement part cause after looking at loads i figured none of them would line up with the hole for the jack.

Thanks guys. PS if anyone can find any on the web can you reply with the link doesnt matter about cost really.
  8. I just thought i should add - this is very normal i have a ATI HD radeon 5770 and i can tell you this very normal mine takes a few mins when i start playing high end games to reach temperatures similar to the one you have - take a look the cards specs on the offical cards page and scrool to the bottom it will tell you there what temperature it can reach with in safe limit http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-gtx-560ti-gtx-550ti-us.html , and you other components in the computer have their own cooling example; CPU has its own cooler
  9. Hey, what games are you running when you get these temperatures?
  10. Hi, Try the free version of Speccy http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download
  11. Hey Nev, Sorry to hear about you car. it was sent to toshiba for repair when it was under insurence however its not under insurence anymore :( so i guess going to have to get a new motherboard i guess. If i took it to a repair shop could i pay for them to replace the controller chip? thanks
  12. Both the PSU already installed and the ocz PSU i recommened are ATX so it will fit long as this one is your computer http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...odTypeId=12454, and just follow the instructions in that guide to install the Psu and youll be just fine. I this helps
  13. Hi' id recommend a power supply with a little more kick about 600w and maybe a bigger HDD
